Wake up to the sight of ancient oaks and the mountain horizon without leaving your covers. - Indoor-Outdoor Living: Large glass-paneled double doors open wide onto your private redwood deck. It’s the perfect spot for morning yoga, sunset coffee, or simply breathing in the crisp mountain air at 3,600ft. - The View: On clear days, the ridge offers a sweeping vista that stretches across the valley all the way to the Pacific Ocean. - Modern Off-Grid Tech: * Solar Power: The unit features a dedicated solar battery system that powers warm interior lighting and allows for the charging of small electronics (phones/laptops) - Artesian Water: Your stay is sustained by our own mountain well, providing pure artesian water first claimed in 1892. - Historic Land: Steps from your door, you can discover authentic mortar stones (Native American grinding rocks), connecting your stay to the deep history of Palomar Mountain. Guest access When you stay at the ranch, the land is your playground. You are invited to explore most of our 67-acre off-grid sanctuary, including: - Private Trails: Enjoy full access to miles of scenic walking trails that wind through oak groves and pine-forested ridges. - The Yoga Deck: A short walk from your tiny home leads to our communal yoga deck—the perfect spot for morning meditation, sunset stretching, or late-night stargazing. - Historic Sites: Wander over to the remains of the historic Nate Harrison stone house or visit the ancient Native American mortar stones located right on the grounds. - The Grounds: You are welcome to roam and find your own quiet corner of the mountain. - Facilities: Outdoor showers are available for all guests staying two nights or more. Please Note: To ensure the privacy of everyone on the ranch, some specific areas are reserved. This includes the private decks and BBQ areas attached to other cabins. However, if you're interested in using a BBQ area, please just ask our on-site Camp Host—depending on the number of guests, we are often happy to arrange access for you! Other things to note Your escape begins with the drive! From Highway 76, you’ll head 6 miles up the scenic Nate Harrison Grade. While the road is gravel and narrow in spots—making it unsuitable for RVs or trailers over 30ft—most standard passenger cars handle the climb just fine. Think of the drive as part of the adventure; it’s safe, beautiful, and the ultimate way to transition into mountain time. Note: We recommend the Highway 76 route over the S6/Lake Henshaw backroad, as the latter is significantly rougher.
