Description

Take in the view and beauty of nature, enjoy the breeze and bushland as you sit on the porch. Anticipate birdlife, kangaroos, wallabies, gum trees, occasional goanna and maybe local grazing cattle. Stargazing: Perfect for spotting the Milky Way on a clear night. We encourage our guests to enjoy a digital detox, we don't have wifi. We do have TV and free to air only, and for those who can't resist or need to be in touch, your mobile will provide data. The space Benvenuti and Welcome. Antonetta & Victor, your Hosts speak both English and Italian. Step inside, unwind, and let the beauty of the landscape do the rest. Every window in the house holds a story. From the east, the rising sun spills golden light over the hills like warm honey, walking the kitchen where the coffee brews. To the north, the rugged beauty of the Goomburra section of Main Range National Park stretches across the skyline - ancient, steady, silent. To the south, Mount Dumaresq stands true and strong. Start your stay with a long hot shower, or sink into a steamy bath, using our collection of Al.ive Body products. The calming scents of the shower gel, moisturiser, shampoo, and conditioner are designed to leave you feeling refreshed, pampered, and a little more at peace. Because even the smallest rituals should feel special. In the kitchen, you'll find everything you need to cook up a beautiful meal, or simply prepare your morning toast with the sun rising in front of you. The space is fully equipped with a fridge, stovetop, and oven. And just wait until you stand at the sink. Go on, look up. The view stretches right across to the Goomburra section of the Main Range national park, a breathtaking reminder that here, you're surrounded by something timeless and grounding. We've stocked the basics for your stay - olive oil, salt, pepper, and of course, tea including herbal and coffee. For the coffee lovers, there's a caffeteria waiting for you to brew the perfect cup. Take it outside if you like, let the birdsong be your breakfast soundtrack. This is the place to rest, to breathe deeply, to connect with nature and with yourself. We hope you feel the warmth and care in every corner - from the views, to the linens, to the love that made this home. Stargazing the Milky Way: If you love the night sky, you are in for a treat. This area is rated Class 2 on the Bortle Scale - that means the skies here re exceptionally dark, with almost no light pollution. Whether you are sitting under a blanket of stars with a glass of wine or enjoying the porch, you'll experience the kind of night sky city folk rarely see. Our retreat is completely off grid - powered by the sun and grounded in simplicity. Solar energy keeps the lights glowing, the water flowing, and your fridge humming, while a handcrafted Australian fireplace offers the kind of warmth you'll remember long after your stay. During the cooler months we've prepared enough firewood for your first 2 nights - just enough to warm your toes, and listen to the crackle as the starts appear overhead. Need more ? You can grab extra wood at the Caltex in Aratula on your way (from Brisbane) or the Ampol (towards Warwick). Our family enjoyed a wonderful stay with memories made like the kids of the 90’s - sneaking up on wallabies grazing, barefoot riding bikes around the yard, kicking the ball, throwing planes off the veranda, playing cards and board games, watching the sunset, tv with ads (haha). The perfect escape whether you’re wanting some me time, a romantic couples escape, a getaway with the girls or some quality family time. Adavale feels like a warm hug from your favourite person. A moment of “everything is going to be okay”. Antonetta and Victor are wonderful hosts. They’re caring and communicative and made us feel very welcomed. The off grid instructions are very easy and clear to follow. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend.” “This beautiful cottage stole our hearts. My family escaped the chaos and embraced the peaceful, private, picturesque location and accomodation. We value quality time and adventure and from here we did amazing trips to Stanthorpe, the granite belt, Queen Mary falls and so much more we will be back to do. The cottage was spacious and homely. Amazing sunsets on the hill, kangaroos in the backyard and warm fires inside and outside the cottage. We will be back over and over. We can not recommend this place enough! Thank you to our hosts for an amazing time with all the little touches and great communication. Anyone who reads off grid and isn’t familiar don’t be worried as this is what makes it even more special . The simple steps to enjoy your eco friendly stay are effortless and all so worth it! We could go on and on! Little families or couples retreat! This place has it all! Thank you for our stay!” Guest access Guests are welcome to make themselves completely at home and enjoy all the beautiful spaces available throughout the house. From quiet mornings with coffee on the veranda to evenings curled up with a book as the sun sets behind the ranges, this home is yours to enjoy. You'll find two comfortable bedrooms ready for you to rest and recharge. There is a third bedroom on the property that is kept locked—it’s used for supplies to keep the home running smoothly. Every other space, from the cozy lounge to the outdoor areas and everything in between, is yours to enjoy. We hope it feels just as welcoming, comforting, and peaceful as it does to us. Whether you’re cooking up something delicious in the kitchen, sharing stories around the dining table, or simply gazing out the windows at the rolling hills and peaceful landscape—take your time. Breathe in. Settle in. Other things to note Origins We’re Victor and Antonetta—an Italian-Aussie couple who turned our dream of a peaceful country escape into *Adavale*. Our story began long before us—our parents were both chefs who worked side by side, and eventually decided their kids should too! We love cooking, bushwalking and creating memorable guest experiences. We can’t wait to welcome you to our heart-filled hideaway. Why 'Adavale' ? We found the name "Adavale" on a section of a QTopo map that captured our hearts. It felt like a little nod to the landscape—quiet, grounded, and full of charm. So we borrowed it for our home, hoping it brings you the same sense of place and peace we felt when we first saw it. Get comfy and curious We have provided a picnic blanket and binoculars in the drawer supporting the TV, for use outside. Please Do Not use inside bedding blankets for any outside activities.
