Traditional Workers Cottage

Join the homestead, bring your furry friend and relax in our off-grid restored cottage. Just ten minutes from Lake Moogerah and with views west across the Scenic Rim, take a break from city life to watch the sunset and relax among the animals. The traditional cottage has a queen bed and a single bed in an adjoining room. Bathroom access is via the single room and a camp kitchen is available for cooking. Internet is available but unreliable and there is no cell service. Switch off and relax! The space Our property is a 40 acre homestead nestled between the Moogerah Peaks and the Scenic Rim. You will be staying in the restored 1920s cottage. This cottage forms part of the cluster of homestead buildings which are usually occupied by us. Your cottage has one main bedroom with a queen bed, an adjoining room with a single bed. There is an additional trundle bed underneath this bed - although it is important to know that this would be quite cramped for four adults (you'd be better off camping!). There is one bathroom in the cottage. All of the water is rainwater direct from our filtered tanks. It is drinkable although we recommend keeping showers shorter in the dry months. Cooking can be done in the outdoor Summer House - just down in front of the cottage. Here there is a woodfire pizza oven, an electric fry pan, toaster, kettle and fridge. This is only a basic cooking arrangement although we can do our best to accommodate any additional requests. We have two friendly dogs Leo & Abbey who you may meet. We also have some horses, chickens and cows in the paddocks around the homestead. Guest access You have access to the guest cottage and to the Summer House. You're also welcome to walk around the property, pick fruit in the orchard, eat mulberries and use the fire pits. Sometimes we have campers down at the dam in which case they are self-contained. We can meet you when you arrive to show you where everything is or allow you to explore for yourself. If you are bringing a pet, the entire homestead area is enclosed with mesh fencing. Please make sure to book for your pet so that we can be prepared with the other animals. Other things to note This property is without good reception and internet access. Although wifi is available, it is generally slow speeds. Take a screenshot of your arrival information for when you get out there so you can connect into the wifi if you need to get in contact. The road to enter the property is an unsealed road that is suitable for a 2WD. We have animals on our property. Our kitchen is a basic outdoor kitchen and doesn't have all the amenities required for comprehensive cooking.
