Rural Relaxation - a week's holiday in one night!

Room to Rent – Peaceful Home with Private Bathroom. We have a beautiful room available in a quiet, tranquil house, perfect for someone who values peace and privacy. Enjoy your own private bathroom and garden access, ideal for relaxing with a cup of tea. The home is clean, serene, and well-kept, with a small dog and friendly owners. The room has plenty of wardrobe space and a comfortable double bed. Towels and bedding is provided as well! TV available. Jon and I welcome you! The space The house dates back to the 1550s in it's oldest parts. There are some original beams and character features. It is a detached property with gardens on all sides, set back from the road with off street parking. The border of the garden is mostly lined with tall hedges and trees so, although there are neighbours nearby, one doesn't feel overlooked. Guest access We will welcome you to park in front of the garage on our entrance driveway. You then walk through a gate and towards the kitchen entrance. The guest room is up a short flight of steps and the private bathroom is in the room adjacent. At the end of the corridor is a closed door past which is the other side of the house where we, the hosts sleep. We have our own staircase on the other side of the house so you will know we are close but feel you have your own privacy. When weather permits, you are welcome to sit in the garden as well as the guest room. On colder days if you wish to make use of a living room, this can also be provided. During your stay We are usually home when you arrive and during your stay. If we are out, we can provide a key for access and will always be available for questions by text. We are sensitive to our guests preference for conversation and alone time adapting as they prefer. We are also both working and for this reason we are also coming and going from the house at different times. Other things to note There is patchy mobile phone reception on our road. some guests experience no issue and others have limited signal. We share the wifi code in advance so that even if we are not home when you arrive you will be able to get online. With WiFi calling enabled in your phone settings, you will then be able to make and receive calls as usual even if there is limited mobile phone network signal. We give good directions to find the house and sat nav brings most people to us with no issue. As there are no house numbers on the street, we put a cone at the bottom of the drive and also share the house names opposite to make it easy to find. We also share tips for the best roads to approach as a couple are narrow country lanes which are worth avoiding. People who are brave and ignore the suggestions, always make it in one piece but often comment that they wished they had taken the advice when it was offered! I have to confess to being guilty of doing the same thing myself going other places for the first time!!
