The beach at Lido Bacino (8-minute drive) has canoes for rental and kite surfing or surfing for more adventurous holidaymakers. Away from the coast, guests can explore the wetlands and woods in the Natural Park of Bosco e Paludi di Rauccio. It is full of birds and rare plants. A visit to Lecce, (20 minutes) the “Florence of the South”, is a must. This jewel of a city is famous for its unique Baroque architecture, Roman remains, its excellent food and good shopping. Torre Chianca has a range of restaurants, bars and cafés to suit all budgets. For self-catering there are two small supermarkets just a 5-minute drive from the villa, alternatively, there is the farmers market in Lecce every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, where you can find the best local ingredients.
