The space Step into this cosy lakeside cabin and immediately feel at ease in the bright, open-plan interior, with large windows and warm wooden finishes that bring the outdoors inside. The main living space includes a comfy double bed, a double sofa bed, a smart TV, a dining table for four, and Wi-Fi — perfect for relaxing or spending quality time with loved ones. The kitchenette is fully equipped with an electric hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, small fridge-freezer, and all essential cookware and utensils, making it easy to prepare meals during your stay. The modern bathroom features a shower with both handheld and waterfall options, a toilet, sink, and reliable hot water. We provide fresh towels for each stay. Two heaters and a wardrobe ensure comfort and convenience throughout the year. Outside, the private patio with a stone table overlooks the tranquil lake, offering the perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee, evening drinks, or simply watch wildlife and soak in the peaceful nature setting. We also offer a charcoal barbecue and utensils for a small additional fee which must be requested in advance. Similarly, we offer a campfire package for a small additional fee, which provides usage of our campfire in the outside field area and comes with bags of seasoned firewood, firelighters and matches. Designed for simplicity, comfort, and tranquility, this cabin is your ideal countryside retreat — a relaxing, restorative escape from everyday life, where you can unwind in a peaceful setting and enjoy the natural surroundings. Guest access Guests have private use of the entire cabin, the outside patio area and surrounding gardens/field area through the big wooden gates directly in front of the cabin. The lake is part of a small working fishery which may be used by up to a maximum of four anglers during your stay. This activity will not interfere with guests private use of the cabin or lakeside views. Private free parking is included for vehicles. Please note that other areas of the property, including the main house, horse stables and fields are not accessible to guests. Other things to note The lake operates as a quiet working fishery, and anglers may be seen fishing during your stay. Fishing access is not included with the cabin booking, but guests may request it in advance, subject to availability. Please message us to check availability. The cabin is set in a peaceful countryside location while remaining conveniently close to local attractions, including Broxbourne train station (direct trains to Central London in 28 minutes), Hertfordshire Zoo, Broxbourne Woods, and Lea Valley Park. Barbecue: A small barbecue suitable for 2 people, or a larger barbecue suitable for 4, is available on request only, subject to a small additional fee to cover charcoal and cleaning. Please message us in advance if you’d like to use it. Fire Pit: A dedicated fire pit area with seating is available for guests to enjoy in the field area just a short distance from the cabin near the woods with our optional campfire package, which includes seasoned firewood, firelighters and matches. If you’d like to add this to your stay, just let us know before or during your visit. For safety and to help us maintain the fire pit, only the firewood supplied by us may be used. Outside firewood or other materials must not be burned. Under no circumstances are campfires allowed to be made anywhere else on the property, or the fire pit to be moved out of its designated area. Horses and dogs live on other parts of the property. They are kept in separate areas well away from the cabin area and lake but you may see or hear them during your stay. Private free parking is available on site. Standard Check-in is 2–6pm. Later check in may be possible but guests arriving later must contact us in advance to arrange this. As check-in is a personal meet and greet, the latest arrival we can usually accommodate is 10pm. Failure to agree a late arrival time in advance may result in us being unable to accommodate check-in outside the stated hours. As the cabin is in a rural lakeside setting, you may see some insects or spiders and other wildlife especially in summer. This is a natural part of the countryside experience. The property is booked for guests only with no events or gatherings and a maximum of 4 guest at all times.
