Description

Please note there is no running water or cooking facility. We do not allow any kind of open flame. This includes camp stoves and smoking. A 4x4 or AWD vehicle is required to safely access our property. Our check-in time is 7pm. Night sky glamping and star viewing in an entirely clear majestic geodesic dome! Immerse yourself in nature, sleep under the stars and wake up in the morning gazing across the valley at a glacier from the comfort of a bed. More photos on @smithers_mountain_domes The space Our off-grid glamping dome is located up on a knoll on our beautiful 11 acre property. A 12 minute drive from Smithers, it is the perfect place to step away from the business of life and recharge in nature. The dome is tucked amongst the trees and moss with privacy and has an incredible view across the valley of the beautiful Twin Falls and Kathlyn Glacier. Relax and enjoy a quiet evening with a book or take advantage of the beauty and adventure that the Bulkley Valley has to offer. The inside of the dome has a memory foam tatami style queen size mattress with cozy warm bedding that can fold up into a couch for daytime use. There is an A-frame outdoor composting toilet outhouse. Please understand that this is a glamping experience and that while amenities are limited, the views might be one of the most beautiful you've ever seen! We hope you love our wondrous little dome and enjoy your stay:) Guest access Please get in touch with us via the air b and b app if you need anything:) Other things to note The dome is immersed in nature and shares the property with wildlife. Please do not leave the dome door open to avoid any critters bunking up with you! Please do not store any garbage or food in the dome (keep any food in your vehicle overnight). Our dome blends in to the surrounding ecosystem and shares a space with animals such as deer, moose, bears, mice and bugs such as flies, mosquitos, moths, and spiders. Additionally, because the dome is entirely clear, it is also uninsulated. This means that the dome temperature fluctuates according to the weather. In summer months, it can get hot during the daytime and in winter months it can get quite chilly overnight! We do our best to make sure our guests have a great experience but if the prospect of a bug or fluctuating weather makes you upset, you might consider booking a different accommodation! Please look at the weather forecast and consider what temperatures you are comfortable glamping in prior to booking. Our access road is 500 m long and is very steep. Please be aware that an AWD or 4WD vehicle is needed. The dome is about a 1 minute walk from the parking area through a wondrous mossy forested trail and requires the ability to walk on uneven terrain (requires good fitness/mobility). The dome is small and quaint (12 feet diameter) and therefore we only allow 2 guests max. No pets or campfires please. Please note that this dome is off grid and does not have power or wifi. The experience is truly stunning and we hope your stay is magical! Registration Details Provincial registration number: Exempt
