Room at Äskhults Gård

Leave the city and fill your lungs with the fresh air from the forests of the highlands. Or bring breakfast into the room. Bring your hiking boots for an adventure along the Höglandsleden trail that passes the farm and fill your water bottles at Svartån's spring. The space Welcome to a large, beautiful property with historical decor! Located in a secluded rural area, surrounded by forest and close to hiking trails and lakes, yet also close to Eksjö (10 km), Nässjö (8 km) and Jönköping (49 km), you will find Äskhults Gård. A place with roots dating back to the 14th century. Here, you will stay in a separate part of our home on the ground floor with your own entrance and access to part of the large garden. (We only accept one group at a time, which means you have full access to all rooms and bathrooms). Parking is available right outside. Once inside, there is a large hallway connected to a toilet with a shower. The bedroom is bright and has windows facing the orchard. There is a double bed, and the ceiling is adorned with an old, restored painting of Adam and Eve in Paradise from the 1700s. The library, where you as guests can sit undisturbed, is decorated with a coffered ceiling where coats of arms from the families that previously owned the estate have been painted. There is also a comfortable sofa bed with two beds. Finally, there is also a large room furnished with a dining table and a sofa. Breakfasts are served here (for guests who have ordered them), and there is also a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and kettle for those who want to bring their own breakfast. Guest access All rooms accessible from the main entrance are for the use of our guests only. There is also a private entrance on the right where the family lives. During your stay I will be happy to welcome you upon arrival to show you around and answer any questions or listen to any requests. In the morning, I serve breakfast in the large hall if desired and take care of the dishes. After that, I am usually available if needed, as I work partly from home. Other things to note If you would like breakfast, please let us know in advance! (The price for breakfast is SEK 150/person). Restaurants and grocery stores are located in nearby towns, ten kilometres from the accommodation. We have a dog, a rabbit and two cats, but they do not stay in the guests' space when it is rented out, although they can be found outdoors. The tiled stoves in the bedrooms are only used after contacting the host.
