You’ll be only a few miles from scenic kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, cycling, and historic landmarks. Many wedding/event venues and shops and restaurants are nearby. There are 2 off street parking spaces for guests, making the home suitable for up to 5 adults. NO CLEANING FEE The space This 1885 Folk Victorian home is located in LaSalle within easy walking distance of Hegeler Park with its public swimming pool, pickleball courts, tennis courts, and baseball fields. You can also enjoy a short walk to the Twisty Freeze for ice cream, The Bean Box for espresso drinks, and several pubs with entertainment, cocktails, and food. Downtown LaSalle with unique bakeries, shops, and restaurants is less than a mile away, but it is a bit steep coming back! 3 state parks with excellent hiking, including Starved Rock State Park, Matthiessen, and Buffalo Rock, are less than 15 minutes away. You’ll be 5-7 minutes away from The Auditorium Ballroom and The Westclox wedding/event venues. Guests will enjoy the spacious and updated first and second floors, with the bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a flex bedroom/office/laundry room upstairs; and an updated kitchen with heated floors, a half bath, and large dining and living rooms on the first floor. Some original 1885 features remain, so the home is an eclectic mix of old and new. This home is best suited for adults with good knees or older children who don’t mind climbing stairs, since all beds and the shower are on the second floor. Please be aware there is no tub for bathing toddlers or any kind of “childproofing.” Guest access You’ll have the home to yourselves with no shared spaces. Other things to note This historic home is on a main street so there will be some street noise during peak travel times. The home was built in 1885, so some original doors and other features remain. You’ll have spacious, high-ceilinged rooms with many modern updates, but also a few old house quirks and wooden stairs leading to the bedrooms and main bathroom on the second floor. This home isn’t well-suited for pets, babies, toddlers, and people with mobility issues, There is a modern shower but no bathtub for toddlers. There are antique wood floors on the ground level, lots of stairs to access the bedrooms, and other toddler hazards, but there’s plenty of space and it’s just right for older children.
