The Farmhouse on Lazy 8 Ranch
The Farmhouse on Lazy 8 Ranch
Description
Experience a welcoming and updated 1852 farmhouse —your private countryside haven for friends & family seeking to unwind after a day of experiencing nature. 1 mile from Camp Aramoni wedding venue 5 minutes from Matthiessen State Park 10 minutes from Starved Rock State Park The space The farmhouse was built in 1852. Additions were added in 2025. Some of the rooms have the quaint historic woodwork (and sloping floors) that give a place character. Other rooms have all new construction. The master suite downstairs has french windows, large bathroom area, and walk-in closet with private office area. The upstairs rooms have beds and closets. All bedrooms have a Roku tv. The downstairs bathroom has a large shower for the upstairs guests. The kitchen is large with an island and ample equipment for cooking and baking. The dining room, living room, and kitchen are open concept so you can have social interaction. The library is well stocked with games, several genres of books (some by our very own author), and a specific area geared towards children. The patio can be accessed via large french doors and the front door. It has sitting areas, a grill, and outdoor bar space. There are additional seating areas in the yard. Outdoor games are usually stored in the basement but may be on the patio in nicer weather. We didn’t go out and buy farmhouse decor; it is all equipment and items from the site many with stories of their own. Guest access The farmhouse is for the sole use of the booking guest. You have full access to the bedrooms, bathrooms, living room, dining area, library, kitchen, patio, yard, and barnlot. Some cellar and basement areas are marked as staff only. Barnlot outbuildings and access to horses is not allowed at this time. You are welcome to take pictures by the tractor, buildings, and across the fence from horses. Please do not drive into the farm fields. Other things to note At this time we do not allow any pets, smoking, fires, or films.
