At nightfall, there are also incredible stargazing opportunities thanks to the lack of light pollution, the night sky comes alive with countless stars. Without the interference of city lights, you'll be able to see constellations, shooting stars, and even the Milky Way in all its glory. Whether you're a seasoned stargazer or simply looking up for the first time, the clear, dark skies offer a breathtaking view that's hard to find anywhere else, making it the perfect way to end a day of relaxation by the lake. Additionally, you'll find a propane grill on the patio, ideal for preparing a delicious meal while enjoying the scenic views. The town is rich in natural beauty, making it a haven for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy fishing, boating, and birdwatching. With a population under 2,000, Hawthorne maintains a close-knit community vibe, where local events and small-town traditions are cherished. Its historical roots, dating back to the late 1800s as a railroad town, can still be felt in the town's architecture and landmarks, adding a touch of nostalgia to the peaceful surroundings. Despite its small size, Hawthorne offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere that captures the essence of old Florida living. Guest access ✧ GENERAL: Guests can enjoy access to the entire property except the shed, and other dwelling unless already being rented by your party. ✧ LOCATING YOUR GETAWAY: You will have to navigate a short stretch of dirt road to get to the driveway. The dirt road meets the pavement at the three mailboxes (ours is pink)! It has never been an issue for any vehicle to access. We are located at the end of said dirt road to your left as we are the only property that does NOT have a front gate. Additional directions are available. ✧ PARKING: Free parking is available within the designated spots only, with room for 3 vehicles. ✧ WATER SPORTS: Two full size kayaks are available for guest use. Life vests are provided and are required to be worn while using the kayaks. ✧ GRILL: Make sure to check the propane, as the host does not supply it. Any gas in the tank is left over from the previous guest. Please clean all utensils before and after each use. ✧ MULTI-DWELLING PROPERTY : Please note there are two dwellings on this property. This is notice that the other dwelling may be rented to another party during your stay. Other things to note ✧ There is no front gate nor is there fencing at the water's edge so you may possibly be visited by wildlife during your stay. (Deer, Armadillos, Sandhill Cranes, etc.) ✧ Swim at your own risk as there is no lifeguard on duty. ✧ This home has lake access and you are more than welcome to launch your vessels (boat, jet skis, kayaks, paddle boards, etc.) at your own risk. Inquire for more details. ✧ The home is on a private well and water is considered on the hard side. It is absolutely safe but please keep this in mind if you have preferences. ✧ For safety, security, and liability reasons, there are three exterior security cameras. They are in place to monitor the home when it is vacant and to ensure compliance with house rules, especially following previous incidents of rule violations by other guests. Each camera is positioned to cover the front, middle, and back yard. Rest assured you and your party will have complete privacy during your stay. ✧You may encounter different types of insects as this property is rural.
