The Cottage @ Gecko is our only pet-friendly accommodation, welcoming small to medium-sized dogs at a flat rate per stay, per dog. This private, self-contained cottage features a fully walled garden, an exclusive-use splash pool, and its own automatic entrance gate with dedicated parking away from other vehicles. Conveniently located just 19 km from the Malelane Kruger Gate and 25 km from the Crocodile River Kruger Gate, it offers both comfort and privacy for guests exploring the area. The space The Cottage @ Gecko offers 86 m² of comfortable living space set within a private 300 m² garden. This charming retreat features two bedrooms — one with a double bed and the other with twin beds — comfortably accommodating up to four guests. The main bedroom includes an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet, and basin, while a second family bathroom also offers a shower, toilet, and basin for added convenience. The open-plan living area is designed for relaxation, with a cozy lounge equipped with Netflix TV, a selection of books, and family games. A breakfast nook seats four, and the fully equipped kitchen includes an oven and hob, fridge with freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, crockery, cutlery, and towels. A separate laundry room houses a washing machine for guest use. All doors open onto a lush, fully enclosed garden, where you’ll find a covered patio with an outdoor dining table, chairs, and a built-in braai — perfect for enjoying the Lowveld’s warm evenings. We welcome a maximum of two small to medium dogs at a flat rate per stay, per dog or cat. Indoor cats are also welcome (maximum two), though we recommend this only for cats accustomed to staying inside. Please note: the interior of the cottage is strictly non-smoking. However, ashtrays are provided on the covered patio, and vaping is permitted indoors. Housekeeping is included on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additional cleaning days can be arranged upon request at a small extra charge. Located in the quiet village of Hectorspruit, the cottage is within walking distance of a local corner shop, bottle store, butchery, and the historic Buffalo Hotel, which offers a bar and restaurant. We’re just a 20-minute drive from both the Malelane and Crocodile Bridge gates to the Kruger National Park. The Jeppe’s Reef border post to Eswatini is 30 minutes away, and the Lebombo border into Mozambique is just 20 minutes by car. Please note: there is no public transport available, and the property accommodates a maximum of four guests. Guest access Gecko Cottage is totally private, this is all your space. Other things to note The Pool is closed and covered during winter season. It can be closed on request if you are concerned about your pets.
