Nearby Mount Baker, Vancouver Canada, and only 30 mins from Bellingham, we have this beautiful new cabin on our 15 acre homestead where you can unwind and relax. Whether you are visiting family, mountain biking, getting out on the snowy slopes, planning a romantic date, or working away from home, our lovely nature getaway is waiting for you. Our newly hand-crafted cabin has all the cozy touches, gorgeous nature views, and amenities you’ll need for your travels away from home. The space Welcome to our WilderNest! We are proud of our beautiful, new, hand-built cabin on our lovely homestead. We designed and built this cabin ourselves and we are excited to share this gem with you. It has an open floor plan that includes: kitchen, dining area, living room and loft, plus a gorgeous shower, bathroom, separate bedroom, and beautiful cedar deck over looking our orchard outside tall, lovely French doors. The WilderNest has high ceilings and many large windows that make it feel like you’re in a treehouse, including earthen plastered walls that feel dreamy, spacious, and relaxing. There is a lounge loft area with steep stairs and low ceiling, which is meant for lounging, watching movies or sleeping. The kitchen has: a large farmhouse sink, gas stove top, coffee and tea, a cute full size retro modern fridge, and all the pots and pans and basics you need plus more. The dining table seats up to 4 people. The living room faces towards large french doors and a private outdoor deck - the ultimate view - a gorgeous and lush green orchard and greenery with birds zipping by. Relax with a good book or cup of tea while observing the large mossy boulder, surrounding trees and wildlife. Rooms: The bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed, large windows, and its own mudroom entrance. The full bathroom has a stunning tadelakt shower, towels, shampoo and conditioner, and cozy warm wooded vibes. Loft Space: The loft has a double futon, smart tv and loungey touches that can sleep two people comfortably. We designed and handcrafted this home from the ground up. You'll find a variety of beautiful and one of a kind features in this cabin, like the shower, windowsills, plaster walls, decor and kitchen. You won't want to leave once you plop yourself on the couch with a book and warm cup of coffee. During the cooler months of the year, we have a mini-split heat pump that you can use to heat or cool the main space and bedroom. Throughout the cabin, we use warm lighting and thoughtful touches to make you feel right at home. Our cabin is on 15 acres with gorgeous views and you are welcome to explore our beautiful property. Feel free to hang out on our lawn and landscaped areas, make your way down to the stream that lines our property, visit the island on the pond, or say hello to our chickens in the orchard. There’s also many beautiful trails and spots nearby to explore. We’re happy to suggest ideas for activities. Just ask :) We look forward to hosting you! Guest access Guests have access to the whole nest. There is some private storage in the loft space that is not visible/accessible to guests. Guests have access to all the places on the property listed in the description: nest cabin, garden, pond, island, open grounds apart from other residences . Please do not go into the chicken coop or the fenced area by the main house where the large maple tree and pond are. Thank you! Other things to note Food and Groceries: Since we are on a rural property, we recommend picking up some snacks and groceries in town in Bellingham prior to arrival. There are a couple small markets en route to our property as well, but few shops and restaurants are directly available in our area. Especially for guests arriving later. WiFi: A note about our WiFi - it works well and can sometimes be spotty as we are on rural land. Please plan for this if needed during your stay. Guests with Children: Please be cautious regarding the stairs and loft space if you have a crawler or toddler. We will send details upon arrival. Some notes about the space: please use a cutting board on our butcher block countertops. Do not cut directly on the countertops because that will leave marks.
