Girayir Cottage, serenity in the hinterland.

Enjoy the private space on our small acreage in the beautiful Byron hinterland. Girayir Cottage is a 1 bedroom fully self contained space with a well equipped kitchen, comfy queen size bed, walk in shower, air con, wifi and a verandah. The cottage is surrounded by native gardens and abundant birdlife. Take in the views of the valley across to the Byron lighthouse in the distance or enjoy a stroll around the property. National parks close by, village cafes in the hinterland and local markets. The space The cottage is spacious (60m2) sitting privately amongst native gardens. It is suitable for a single traveller or couple. Feel free to wander in the gardens with several outdoor areas to sit, relax and watch the beautiful sunrises, enjoy a cuppa or a spot of bird watching. It's a great place to relax and unwind. There is abundant birdlife with a regular group of yellow tail black cockatoo vistors, often one or two, to a large group of red-necked wallabies, echidnas, the occaisional koala and being rural, the odd snake. The cottage is equipped with stove, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, culltlery, crockery and glassware. Washing machine, air cond - heating, linen, towels and a selection of local goodies for you to try. Please note, as we are in a wildlife corridor and have an abundance of native wildlife visit regularly, we do not allow pets or childeren. smoking or vaping. Guest access The cottage is located on a section of our 6 acre block. It is at the end of the drive and private to the main residence with ample gardens separating the buildings. Before your arrival, a code will be sent to you to access the key safe at the cottage. Other things to note We are located in the beautiful Byron Hinterland. Although a world away from the hustle and bustle of Byron, all amenities are in easy reach. It is recomended that you have your own vehicle as Ubers and taxis dont reliably service the hinterland. The property is located: 5 minutes to Federal village with Doma Cafe, Moonshine Coffee, the General Store and local park. 15 minutes to Clunes General Store, boutique wine shop and cafe 20 minutes to Mullumbiby and Bangalow 25 minutes to Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads 30 minutes to Lismore and Ballina. The Ballina Gateway Airport is 25 minutes and the Gold Coast airport is an hour away. As Federal is a small village and the cafe and general store close after business hours, it is recomended that you purchase your groceries prior to arriving, particularly if after business hours.
