This river front shack located only 1.5hrs out of Adelaide is the perfect getaway for couples, families and friends. Shack 56 looks out over a large grassy yard, a beautiful old red gum on the river bank with your own private jetty just in front. The options are endless; have a game of cricket on the lush green grass, take a boat or jetski out for a spin, paddle some kayaks along the river or cast a line and catch some fish! Sit back, relax and enjoy the sounds of the kookaburras. The space: The open plan kitchen/dining/living look right out onto the river through the large glass windows boasting a stunning view of the glassy water in the morning, and the beautiful orange glow of the afternoon sunset. Adjacent to the living space, find yourself sitting out on the deck soaking up the atmosphere enjoying a drink while listening to the kookaburras sing and admire the Pelicans, Cockatoos and other birds. The kitchen is equiped with a 4 plate electric stove, large oven, double sink, and a double fridge/freezer. Alternately there is also the BBQ located down below with a generous sized flat plate big enough to cook a mountain of snags , burgers and steaks. The main section of the shack boasts two queen bedrooms fitted with cupboards and mirrors. The lower level 'boat shed' includes two queen bunks with single beds above and an additional fold out couch for an extra couple guests. Thus bringing the total sleeping capacity to a max 12. It is a short walk/drive to the Bowhill general store (and boat ramp) where you can purchase coffee, food, alcohol and petrol/diesel. Keep in mind they are closed on Mondays. Amenitites include: - Reverse cycle split system airconditioning to all areas (both main bedrooms, living space and boatshed) - Coffee pod machine, toaster, kettle, microwave. - Cutlery, plates/bowls, kitchen utensils, coffee mugs, drinking glasses and wine glasses. - Flat screen TV's in the living space and boatshed. - A huge range of DVD's and board games and puzzles to entertain you indoors. - Outdoor fire pit (not to be used during fire ban season). - Linen, pillows and towels provided to each bed. Please be advised NO PETS allowed. Guest access The driveway is sufficient for two cars, with additional parking available in the public space (vacant block) at the rear. The under shack sheds are locked as well as the linen cupboards in the boat shed and upper level. All kitchen cupboards, bedroom cupboards and bathroom cupboards are free to use and provide plenty of storage space. The jetty is private property and free for your use for the duration of your stay. Doors to the shack are secured with a digital lock code which will be provided upon confirmation of booking. Other things to note Please note the shack is supplied by river water which is only suitable for showering, brushing teeth and cleaning dishes. Do not use for drinking water. One 10L cask of water will be provided for your stay. Please bring any additional water you feel you will require. Remember life jackets must be worn while using kayaks. Some life jackets have been provided however sizes are limited. Please bring your own for any larger sizes. It is recommended you wear a life jacket at all times in the river - even while swimming. Please be mindful of the neighbours regarding noise levels and being courteous with items being left in the shared lawn area.
