Flexible Check-In, Check-Out & Extra Guest Options We understand that every trip is different, so we offer several optional services to make your stay more convenient. Early Check-In Depending on availability and our cleaning schedule, early check-in may be available from as early as 1:00 PM. Early check-in is available for an additional ¥2,000 per hour before the standard check-in time. Because availability depends on the previous guest’s departure and our cleaning schedule, please contact us in advance if you would like to request early check-in. Late Check-Out Late check-out may also be available depending on the reservation and cleaning schedule for the day of your departure. When available, you may extend your check-out until 11:00 AM for an additional ¥2,000. Please contact us in advance if you would like to request late check-out, as we may not always be able to accommodate it when another guest is arriving on the same day. Luggage Storage If you would like us to store your luggage before check-in or after check-out, luggage storage may also be available. The fee is ¥1,000 per piece of luggage. Please contact us in advance so that we can confirm availability and arrange the details with you. Free Extra Mattress for Families & Groups The apartment normally includes one queen-size bed. However, for families traveling with children or groups of 3–4 guests, we can also provide additional mattresses that can be placed on the floor. There is no additional charge for these mattresses. If you require an extra mattress, please let us know before your arrival so that we can prepare the room for you. Stay in Authentic Tokyo Instead of staying in a busy tourist district, you’ll be in Shibamata, a quiet and traditional Japanese neighborhood where you can experience a more authentic side of Tokyo. You’ll find local restaurants, shops, streets, and everyday Japanese life right around you — while still having convenient train connections to the major sights. Convenient Transportation Keisei-Takasago Station is nearby, giving you convenient connections to many parts of Tokyo. You can take direct trains to both Narita and Haneda Airports, making arrival and departure much easier. You can also reach Ueno, Asakusa, and Tokyo Skytree directly. For other destinations around Tokyo, you will generally only need to change trains once, making it surprisingly easy to explore the city from this peaceful neighborhood. Good to Know Before Booking We want you to have a clear picture of the location and accessibility before making your reservation. About a 12-minute walk from the nearest station. The apartment is not directly next to the train station, so please keep this in mind if you prefer accommodation just a few minutes from public transportation. The walk is through a quiet residential neighborhood. Located outside central Tokyo. Shibamata is in eastern Tokyo, away from the main tourist areas. The advantage is a more peaceful, spacious, and traditional neighborhood, but reaching some of Tokyo’s major attractions takes longer than staying in central Tokyo. Most destinations require approximately one train transfer. Unfortunately, the property is not wheelchair accessible. There are steps/access conditions that may make the apartment unsuitable for guests who use a wheelchair or have significant mobility limitations. Please contact us before booking if you have specific accessibility requirements, and we’ll be happy to provide more details. Discover Shibamata — Traditional Tokyo Just Outside the Tourist Center One of the special things about staying here is that you don’t have to travel into central Tokyo to experience Japanese culture. Shibamata is a historic neighborhood with charming streets, traditional architecture, temples, gardens, museums, local restaurants, and everyday Japanese life — all close to the apartment. Shibamata Taishakuten & Taishakuten Sando Take a stroll along Taishakuten Sando, the traditional shopping street leading toward Shibamata Taishakuten Temple. The street is lined with charming traditional shops and local restaurants where you can try Japanese sweets, snacks, and traditional dishes. At the temple, don’t miss the beautifully detailed wood carvings, which are one of Shibamata’s highlights. It’s a wonderful area to explore at a relaxed pace, especially if you want to experience a side of Tokyo that feels very different from the busy city center. Yamamoto-tei Just a short walk from the temple is Yamamoto-tei, a beautifully preserved historic Japanese residence known for its elegant architecture and peaceful Japanese garden. It’s an excellent place to slow down, enjoy the garden, and experience the atmosphere of traditional Japan. Tora-san Museum Shibamata is also famous as the hometown of Tora-san, the beloved character from the long-running Japanese movie series Otoko wa Tsurai yo (It’s Tough Being a Man), which began in the late 1960s. At the Tora-san Museum, you can learn about the movies, characters, and history of this iconic Japanese film series. There is also a café nearby where you can relax after exploring the area. Guest access 🔑 Guest Access Guests have private access to the entire house (It is in the first floor. The hosts live on the second and third floor). Self check-in is available after 4:00 PM using a key box. Check-out is at 10:00 AM, please turn off everything, lock the door, leave the key inside the key box and message the hosts to notify your departure. We provide a house guidebook at the entrance with everything you need to know about using the appliances and house features. You can message us if you have any questions. ⏰ Other Things to Note Early check-in / luggage drop-off / late check-out may be possible. Please message us in advance to check availability and cost. Please remove your shoes at the entrance and use the indoor slippers we provide. All personal information provided will be handled with the utmost care and strict confidentiality. However, please note that in the event of a request from government authorities or law enforcement agencies, such information may be shared as required by law. Other things to note 🏠 Please Treat Our Home with Care The floors, walls, and doors throughout the home are made with high-quality, delicate materials. Please treat them with care and respect during your stay. If any damage is found, guests may be responsible for repair costs and any additional expenses resulting from the damage that may affect future guests. ⏰ Check-out Please check out no later than 10:00 AM. If you need a late check-out, it may be possible if arranged and agreed with us in advance, at a rate of ¥2,000 per additional hour. Without prior agreement, a ¥1,000 fee will apply for every 10 minutes of delay after 10:00 AM. 💡 Electricity & Air Conditioning We work hard to offer our guests comfortable accommodation at a very affordable price, and we sincerely appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep our costs reasonable. Please turn off all lights, electrical appliances, and air conditioners whenever you leave the property. We kindly ask for your understanding that paying for electricity and gas while the property is unoccupied creates unnecessary costs that are difficult for us to absorb while maintaining our affordable rates.
