Autumn on the Water 🍂 Cast a line for bass and perch right from the bank, or launch your kayak just 25ft from the back deck to explore the changing leaves along the shoreline. Note: All water activities are at your own risk. We do not provide life jackets; please prioritize safety! Gear & Outdoor Prep 🧼 We’ve made it easy to keep your equipment in top shape. Two external hose hookups are available on either side of the building—ideal for rinsing off your kayak, trailer, or muddy boots after a day of hiking the local fall trails. Parking & Property Care 🚗 Parking: Please park strictly within the designated gravel driveway. There is ample room for trucks and boat trailers. Septic Safety: To protect our system, please do not drive or park beyond the reflective markers. Staying on the gravel is a must to keep the system beneath the grass safe and functional. Private Areas 🔒 For your safety and the maintenance of the cabin, the onsite shed, crawl space, and exterior mechanical equipment (propane tanks/heat pump units) are strictly off-limits. Other things to note Other Things to Note 📝 Property Systems & Care 🏠 Septic System: We utilize a private septic system. To keep the home functional for your stay, please flush only toilet paper. "Flushable" wipes and other products will cause system backups and are strictly prohibited. Smart Climate Control: The home features a fully automated central AC and heat pump system. For maximum efficiency, we ask that you keep windows and doors closed while the system is running. Endless Hot Water: Our Rinnai tankless system provides unlimited hot water. Please note it may take 15–20 seconds to reach the fixtures after a day of non-use. Lakeside Realities 🌲 Nature’s Neighbors: This is a true Maine waterfront experience. Depending on the month, you may encounter black flies or mosquitoes. We recommend bringing your favorite bug spray to enjoy the deck during the "golden hour." Water Clarity: As a shallow warmwater pond, the water is nutrient-rich and perfect for fishing. After heavy rains, the water may take on a natural "tea" color—this is a normal part of the local ecosystem. Waterfront Safety & Responsibility 🎣 At Your Own Risk: The shoreline is available for your enjoyment, but please note that all water activities (including bank fishing and kayaking) are at your own risk. Safety Gear: We do not provide life jackets or water rescue equipment. Guests are responsible for bringing their own Coast Guard-approved flotation devices. Public Access: For those looking for a sandy swimming area or a concrete boat ramp, the town-maintained Jackson Beach is just a few minutes away. Mechanical Access & Privacy 🔒 Privacy First: There are no cameras on the interior or exterior of the property, ensuring your stay is completely private. Off-Limits: For your safety, the onsite shed, crawl space, and exterior mechanical units (propane/heat pumps) are strictly off-limits. Quiet Hours 🤫 To respect our wonderful neighbors, we observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
