Old Otersen train station
Old Otersen train station
Description
The old train station is located about 1 km outside Otersen directly on the edge of the forest on the former Verden-Walsrode narrow-gauge railway line. "Beautiful quiet location - forest, heath, water," is how the former guesthouse "Waldfrieden" was already wooing its guests around 1910. At the end of the narrow-gauge railway era, however, the station fell into a slumber. We are continuing the old tradition: nature lovers can enjoy the 'Sound of Silence' here with plenty of opportunity to relax. The space A separate entrance leads into the former stable with living room and bedroom, eat-in kitchen, bathroom and south terrace, which is adjoined by a large garden and a private forest. The lovingly modernized apartment (including a box spring bed, oak parquet and fireplace) is ideal for 2-3 people. Larger groups (up to a total of 7 people) will find additional space in two adjoining guest rooms with bathroom and private entrance (please book additionally). Experience your time carefree in Otersen, the "Paradise on the Aller" (NDR television). Guest access The vacation rental is located on a spacious property with ample parking. In summer, our private beach on the Aller invites you to swim, relax or canoe. Other things to note Otersen has received several awards in national competitions (including "Gold-Dorf"). The village shop with annexed café, run by the residents in self-government, is a model character. The village is a popular stopover destination on the Aller cycling trail. From May to October, pedestrians and cyclists can take the solar-powered ferry across the river. In the surrounding area, the Walsrode Bird Park, the Dörverden Wolf Center and the Hodenhagen Serengeti Park invite you to visit. 'The happiness of the earth ...' Horse breeding has a tradition in Otersen. In the spring, famous Hanoverian stallions from the Celle State Stud came for the breeding season. Horse breeding was also practiced for decades at the old train station. Today, leisure horses and species-appropriate animal husbandry determine the picture. Our modernized stable with spacious outdoor stalls has self-watering and paddocks. In summer, the horses enjoy their freedom in the pasture on the Aller. For equestrian holiday guests, there is plenty of room for "bed, box & breakfast."
