Oakside Cottage 2 | Peaceful and Convenient

Relaxing cottage on an organic homestead that’s only a 2 minute drive or 5-10 minute bike ride to Main Street in Cottage Grove, and 20 minutes from Eugene. The space The cottage is a sweet and somewhat rustic one bedroom house on our small farm. It is pretty roomy for a one bedroom and has a back patio with small and mostly wild garden. The front looks out onto an oak grove and our shop. Guests have access to the cottage, garden and patio. There is a loft with 3 more beds but this listing is only for the main floor and not the loft (which will be unoccupied so you have the whole house to yourself but loft will be unavailable). We currently have a small herd of goats, chickens and ducks. They all enjoy snacks and we are happy to take you on a visit :) The cottage is our guest home. Rather than an airbrushed, bleached hotel vibe we strive for a comfortable, natural, and homelike setting. It has a lived in feel. We clean thoroughly with eco friendly products and keep scents to a minimum (we do use Dr. Bronner's rose or lavender soap for the floors and diluted essential oils). All our sheets and pillow cases are cotton and washed with fragrance free laundry detergent. There is a full kitchen and it is stocked with most necessities. There is no AC but the floors of the main living area are tile that keep the space cool in the summer. There is radiant floor heating for the colder months and there is also a small gas burning fireplace so it stays nice and cozy. Our house is on the same property and we are around a lot of the time and really enjoy getting to know our guests. It is country life out here- quiet and peaceful a lot of the time but also things going on- kids out playing, riding bikes, basketball, goats being herded, gardening, etc. The property is a work in progress, not an immaculately kept retreat. Kids are welcome but it is not “baby proof”- stairs, loft, etc. Outside on the property there is also farm equipment and tools that are not in your space but kids could get to them if left to roam away from the airbnb space (which we kindly ask you not to do). The house that we live in is separate but visible as you drive in and has a fenced playground and backyard that is private and not available to guests. This is a no smoking property and quiet hours are from 10 PM-8 AM. We do go out of town from time to time so there are times when there is no host on site. Please note that check in is from 4 PM to 9 PM. If you need to arrive later than this you are welcome to, but at our own risk as we will not be available for any issues that come up until 7 am the following morning (we do not sleep with phone on loud, which is why we ask for check in before 9 PM). We have not had anyone not be able to find our place as long as they read the arrive instructions all the way though. We want to make sure this is understood before you book, thanks :) Another note: The loft with the extra beds will be baby gated off to ensure it is not used as cleaning the second level makes it a lot more work which is why this listing is separate and cheaper from the whole house listing. Other things to note No smoking inside or outside the cottage. We ask for quiet after 10 pm (as in no loud music, etc). The cottage is on 7 acres. Guests are welcome to enjoy the outdoor space but asked to not go into other buildings (i.e. the shop) or through fences. There is a TV with a Roku device. Currently we provide access to YouTube TV streaming app. Please note that check in is from 4 PM to 9 PM.
