Laugarfell is located in the Eastern part of the Highlands on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park. Laugarfell is a perfect spot to explore the Highlands as the location is accessible for all vehicles. No 4x4 needed. Start the day by hiking the Waterfall Circle and relax in one of our 2 natural hot springs surrounded by the magnificent Mount Snæfell. Things to do: - Karahnjukar Hydro Power Plant - Hike Snæfell - Hike the Waterfall Circle - Hike Hafrahvammagljúfu - Hike Laugarfell Mountain The space We offer accommodation for up to 28 guests as well as camping facilities (3500kr per person per night) Your stay includes access to our natural hot springs. We have 2 hot springs with different temperatures. The larger pool is approx. 38 degrees and the small pool is approx. 42 degrees. We offer breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is an oatmeal buffet (07:30 - 09:30 for 2700kr ) Dinner is served as a course of the day (it can either be cod, lamb or vegetarian (19:00 - 21:00 for 4700kr) Guest access All areas are accessible except for the kitchen. You can use and prepare your own food and drinks outside of the restaurant opening hours (07:30 - 09:30 and 19:00 - 21:00). Please note that the shower area is shared with the camping guests. Other things to note If you do not have a 4x4 vehicle, please follow our advice below and avoid any roads marked with F. Travelling from the North: We advise you to follow the 1 towards Egilsstaðir. Before the bridge, take exit 931 towards Hengifoss. After Hengifoss, continue on the 933 for about 5 minutes and then take the right exit to 910. Continue for another 40 minutes until you reach Laugarfell. Travelling from the East/South: From Egilsstaðir, we advise you to follow road 931 to Hengifoss. Continue on the 933 for about 5 minutes and then take the right exit to 910. Continue for another 40 minutes until you reach Laugarfell.
