Hillcroft Holiday - Dragonfly Lodge, Woody Hut & Alpaca My Tipi Glamping

Description

Hillcroftholiday. Couk. Dragonfly Lodge is a light, modern self-catering apartment tucked into a beautifully quiet corner of West Sussex countryside — with a Finnish sauna, cold plunge and covered pool available as a bookable extra. Set on our 7-acre smallholding with alpacas and chickens, this spacious ground floor flat sits next to stunning woodland with a river, canal, rolling fields and a network of footpaths right on your doorstep. A perfect launchpad for walkers, cyclists and dog lovers. The space The lodge is attached to our family home via a locked utility room but feels completely private. Two large double patio doors open into a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and living room, with vertical blinds to flood the space with light while keeping things private when you need it. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer-dryer — everything you need for a self-sufficient stay. We include a welcome box with tea, coffee, sugar, fresh juice, eggs from our own chickens, bread and butter (alternatives available on request), plus kitchen essentials like bin bags, dishwasher tablets, soap and washing supplies. Bedroom & Bathroom The king-size bedroom has a beautifully comfortable bed dressed in quality Egyptian cotton linen, a luxury wool duvet and hypoallergenic pillows — hotel-quality comfort in a countryside setting. A smart TV with Netflix, a large wardrobe and chest of drawers complete the room. A patio door leads from the bedroom directly to your own private enclosed patio — a lovely spot to sit with a glass of wine, looking out across the woodland where you'll often spot deer, foxes and badgers, and watching our friendly alpacas graze nearby. The large bathroom has a walk-in shower, soft Egyptian cotton towels, a selection of eco-friendly toiletries and plenty of storage. Living Room Sink into the two-seater reclining LazyBoy leather sofa or comfy armchair, with a smart TV, Netflix, WiFi and cosy blankets provided for proper unwinding. The Farm Spa Suite — Bookable Extra Nestled within our working smallholding, our Farm Spa Circuit is available to Dragonfly Lodge guests as a private bookable add-on. Choose from our traditional Finnish sauna, cold plunge and covered outdoor pool — all eco-powered by our own solar panels. Message us after booking to arrange your session. Not included in the accommodation price, keeping your stay as affordable as possible for guests who simply want a beautiful rural escape. Dogs Well-behaved dogs are very welcome. We ask that dog mess is bagged and placed in the black wheelie bin, and that dogs are kept on a lead on the driveway and grass areas at the front of the lodge — this keeps them safely away from our back field, the alpacas and neighbouring farmland. There are wonderful off-lead walks straight from our entrance gate, with footpaths along the canal leading to local villages and pubs. We have a friendly Newfoundland called Milo — a gentle giant who may bark when you arrive and will almost certainly try to greet you with his paws on the gate. Please don't be alarmed by his size; he just wants a sniff and a lick! Milo is kept in our garden and has no access to the lodge parking area or entrance gate. Babies & Young Children The lodge is designed with couples in mind but young children and babies are very welcome. There is space for a travel cot in the open-plan living area (or a snug fit in the bedroom). A travel cot, highchair, books and toys can be arranged on request. Guest access You have the privacy of the lodge and patio to yourself for your stay. The driveway is shared with our household and we can show you the best place to park. Our driveway accesses the bridleway and footpaths along the Wey & Arun canal (Sussex Border Path) and there are plenty of stunning loops to walk and cycle. We gladly welcome guests to join us in feeding the Alpacas in the afternoon. Other things to note In the winter you'll need your welly boots to navigate the many footpaths and bridleways. Bring slippers too, as the hard floors in the lodge can feel cool under foot. Our access road occasionally floods during periods of heavy rainfall, alternative parking arrangements will be advised on arrival. We have a large Newfoundland dog Milo who is very friendly, please don't worry if he barks as you arrive (just doing his duty). He is fenced in our garden, separately from the main gate and lodge parking area. He'll want to poke his nose up over our patio gate to say hello when you park. We have an external security camera that film our driveway and parking area.
