Guest access You’ll have access to one space in the shared two-car garage, should you choose to use it. We usually don’t park there when guests visit, but want to keep the option open in case of bad weather. We have a mid-sized SUV, but you're welcome to park in the center unless we say otherwise. We need to retain some access to the garage briefly to move the trash and recycling bins to the alley for pickup or grab our bikes. The ground-level apartment, patio, garden and backyard are all private spaces for your exclusive use—these are not shared with the host/homeowner. On occasion, the host may need to briefly step into the backyard to water plants, secure items in the event of storms or put down salt for winter weather. This will only happen if necessary (typically for longer stays) and we’ll do our best to coordinate a time when you’re not around. For your safety and peace of mind, the garage and unit are equipped with smart locks, and we use exterior cameras to monitor the garage door and and outdoor entry way. This helps us ensure the door is securely closed and that no unauthorized individuals enter the property. Steps: This home offers a convenient and straightforward entry. Guests enter through the garage, followed by a short pathway to the front door. There are four steps in total: one step up from the garage into the garden, two along the pathway, and one final step into the home. Please note that the entrance is not wheelchair accessible. However, once inside, the entire living space is on one level for added ease and comfort. Other things to note *PRIVACY* Situated beneath the host's row house, the unit offers a private and separate living space. You'll enjoy exclusive access through the garage entrance, with the unit thoughtfully divided from the main home by a solid, secure, locked door and a stairway to ensure your privacy and comfort. The garden is also private, for you. The host may park their SUV in the two-car garage as well (typically we don't,) but they will enter and exit from outside (not using your garden pathway.) *SAFETY* Safety is our top priority, and we take thoughtful precautions such as turning off electrical devices, ensuring doors are locked at night, closing the garage door, etc. For everyone’s safety and peace of mind, exterior security cameras are in place to monitor the entryways. Clear signage is provided to indicate where all cameras are located. *TEMPERATURE* The temperature in the unit is centrally managed by the host using a smart thermostat, which controls the climate for both your unit and our main level of the home. The space maintains a comfortable temperature throughout the year. If you'd like adjustments, we're happy to accommodate. *BEDROOM* The bedroom is a separate room from your living space with its own door (which can lock.) There is a large closet for you, and your bathroom, adjoins your room. The room features a small window with a shade for privacy. It’s furnished with a king sized bed with a high-quality hybrid mattress. *REQUEST TO BOOK* When requesting to book, please include a brief note about your trip and how you plan to use the space. We prioritize guests who will treat our home with care and respect.
