Description

This special place is close to everything, in a prime location on Tutbury High Street. It offers a truly unique stay in a characterful yet stylish property in a beautiful and historically significant village. This property was previously owned by a local family for almost 100 years and Beresford's House shows you a glimpse of the past through photographs and memorabilia from a bygone era. The property has been modernised to ensure a comfortable stay whilst retaining many original features. The space Whilst having been fully renovated and upgraded, Beresford's House is full of period charm, original features like exposed brickwork, and a warm homely feel. The ground floor has a brick fireplace with a wood burning stove and fuel is provided by the hosts. The seating is cosy with both a TV and DVD player. Books, boardgames and DVD's are available to use. The kitchen is fully equipped and complete with all the usual amenities and also a coffee machine, air fryer and dishwasher. Seating for four people and a high chair is available on request. The Laundry room/WC has a washer/ dryer for your convenience. There are two well proportioned bedrooms on the first (king size) and second floor (double). Both have ample clothes hanging space and hair dryers. A cot is available on request. A large family bathroom is positioned on the first floor to service both bedrooms and has a full sized bath and separate electric shower. Towels and bed linen are provided. A special feature of this property is a large illuminated display area showing all the fascinating historical and personal items discovered in the property following its purchase in 2023. This along with all the family photographs hung around the property provide a glimpse into Tutbury past and the lives and interests of the previous owners. Exit the rear hallway/ cloakroom (perfect for those muddy boots!) to the charming enclosed garden. This offers a peaceful retreat- perfect for relaxing and dining outdoors. There is also access to the rear of the property via a side entrance and a key is provided. Bikes etc can be stored here safely. We ask that guests are mindful of our proximity to our neighbours when outside. This is a period property and the stairs can be steep, please be careful and use the handrails provided for safety. Fire doors have been fitted in the property for guests safety and these can be heavy so we ask guests to take care. Free parking spaces are directly available, subject to availability, in front of the property and along most of the street. However, please note that those on the opposite side of the road are time limited. There are two free car parks on Duke Street and Cornmill lane and are both within a 1-2 minute walk away. Guest access You will have access to the whole house and the garden at the rear. The garden can be accessed through the house or through the shared side gate alongside the property. Other things to note Please be aware that the staircases in the property do not lend themselves to the fitting of stair gates; we therefore recommend that young children are supervised on the staircases and landing at all times.
