The open-concept main living area features wall-to-wall windows that flood the space with natural light and offer stunning views from the living room through to the kitchen and out onto the deck—creating the feeling that you’re right overhanging the lake. The living room, well-equipped kitchen, and dining area make it perfect for shared meals and family games. The cottage comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests with one king bedroom, one queen bedroom, and a fun bunk room for kids featuring 3 single beds and 1 double bed—ideal for siblings or sleepovers. This peaceful setting gives you plenty of space to relax, connect, and enjoy the beauty of Palmerston Lake without distractions. Other things to note Guests have full access to the entire home, private property, and all outdoor spaces, including a private dock and a covered saltwater hot tub gazebo—screened for lake views and privacy. Located on a quiet private road, Rut’s Hut offers peace, seclusion, and minimal traffic. Enjoy the well-equipped dock, perfect for tying up your boat or Sea-Doos after launching just 1 km down the road. We also include 2 adult and 2 child kayaks, so you can explore the lake, paddle to the nearby Crown Land island (500m away), or head to the quiet local beach just 350m from the cottage. If you’re up for a short stroll, you’re only 1 km from the Palmerston Canoto Conservation Area, where forest trails lead to a lookout point with breathtaking views.
