The space The Smithy at Okel Tor Mine Surrounded by natural woodland in the Cornish countryside The Smithy is the former forge at Okel Tor Mine - an historically important Victorian tin and copper mine. This grade II listed historical building was where the miner's tools were made and repaired. It has been sympathetically converted and tastefully decorated using a natural Farrow & Ball colour palette. Furnished to provide comfortable accommodation for two people, it has a comfortable king size bed in the bedroom and equally comfortable king size double sofa bed in the spacious living room, which has a vaulted ceiling and log burning stove. There is a telephone, satellite TV, DVD, DAB sound system and free WiFi. Adjacent to the cottage there is a lean-to utility room with a washing machine. The mine itself is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it lies within the heart of The Tamar Valley AONB. Wake up and draw back the curtains to reveal the wonderful elevated views across The River Tamar. Enjoy a coffee on the covered verandah, whatever the weather, whilst observing the wildlife and planning your day's adventure... Perhaps walk along the riverbank to The National Trust's enchanting Cotehele, stopping off for a drink in one of the local pubs... or maybe explore The Tamar by canoe or SUP before returning to your woodland hideaway where you can snuggle up next to the log burning stove...
