Berghaus Pfafflar Refuge for mountain lovers

At an altitude of 1,600 m, the Berghaus Pfafflar chalet belonging to the So-Naturlech Cottages can accommodate up to 10 people (170 m²): ideal for mountain lovers, cross-country skiers and snowshoers. Important: the chalet is accessible only on foot, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. The ascent takes about 1 hour along a beautiful route on a toboggan run; luggage is transported in a backpack. Please read the information below carefully. The space Located 1600 m in the very old hamlet of Pfafflar, you will enjoy a warm and spacious chalet of 170 m² for 10 people that can be booked in winter from 2 nights. You also have plenty of space outside and impressive views of the mountains! On the ground floor, you have a warm central living room with a wood-burning stove and a fully equipped kitchen with a dining table. Here you can cook like at home! This floor also includes 1 double bedroom (180 x 200) with double bed and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds (80 x 200). Upstairs you have a large bedroom with 1 double bed (160 x 200) and a bunk bed (2 x 90 x 200) with its own bathroom. You also have a large living room with a wood stove and a comfortable double sofa bed (160 x 200). Each floor also has its own bathroom with sink and bath/shower as well as a toilet in a separate room. In the basement, you also have access to a storage room for equipment (skis, snowshoes, sledges...) as well as a washing machine and dryer. On the ground floor, you have access to a large flat plot with table and barbecue where you can relax or have a barbecue. You will enjoy the largest flat terrace at this altitude! In winter, central heating provides domestic hot water as well as the basis for heating. But when you arrive, it will not be very hot (about 14°C), so the additional heating is to be ensured with wood stoves (available). Normally the temperature (and the atmosphere!) rises quickly! Faced with the enthusiasm of the many guests who visited us in summer, we decided to open our chalet this year from 02/16 to 03/16 during the peak season of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. In winter, access is exclusively on foot: either by the 2 km long Hahntennjoch toboggan run, or by ski or snowshoe with an ascent of about 1 hour on an exceptional route. Its breathtaking location is perfect for both introductory hikes to the Hahntennjoch and more demanding summit objectives in the Fundaïstal, Angerletal or Plötzigtal. This listing is also for people looking for peace, relaxation and a change of scenery. In this case, you will appreciate the beauty of the access route, the rest on site or small snowshoe walks in the surroundings, and perhaps crown your stay with a superb toboggan ride down to the valley. Please note: I offer, if necessary, the rental of equipment (wooden sleds and snowshoes) and can also accompany you during access to the chalet as part of a guided snowshoe hike, as a mountain hiking guide. Don't hesitate to ask us your questions before you make your reservation. Other things to note In case of bad weather conditions The chalet is generally easily accessible and really extreme situations are very rare. It has "secure" access via a non-avalanche route. However, during very heavy snowfalls, access can become difficult. Under these conditions, the surrounding slopes being avalanche-prone, the possibilities for outings can be severely limited. In rare cases, it may be necessary to cancel the stay free of charge. As mountain lovers and regulars, you know these particular situations and we thank you in advance for your understanding. Cleaning and sleeping As in a mountain refuge, we ask that you bring your Hüttenschlafsack (sleeping bag). Duvets and pillows (without covers) are available. The cottage must be left clean and tidy before your departure. The very low cleaning fee we charge only covers the cleaning of the toilets as well as a general check to ensure perfect cleanliness for the following guests. The state of cleanliness is validated together during check-out. Respect for the place and the mountain spirit Some guests choose our Berghaus to celebrate a special occasion, and we are delighted. It's a great place to share moments with family or friends. However, we ask everyone to respect the calm and unique atmosphere of the site (nature, authenticity, friendliness, alpine serenity) and to take special care of the accommodation. In short: no "classic" bachelor parties. On the other hand, a friendly and respectful atmosphere, in the pure spirit of the mountain, is of course welcome.
