Escape to Faraway Forest guesthouse, tucked away in the semi tropical rainforest of Punakaiki. Faraway Forest guesthouse is an ultra comfy cosy space. On the edge of the Paparoa National Park, above the iconic Truman Beach, and a 5 minute drive to the township of Punakaiki and the Pancake rocks. Designed with the principles of forest bathing in mind. Soak under the stars, relax amongst the trees. You are encouraged to slow down, breathe deeply and connect with natures restorative power. The space Faraway Forest Guesthouse includes: - A cosy bedroom/living room area containing a comfortable queen-size bed, wifi, t.v, a perfect place to unwind after a day exploring - A compact kitchenette with a sink induction hot plate, small fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. - A modern bathroom. The bathroom has a double walk-in tiled shower, toilet and basin. From the bathroom there is direct access to the deck and spa area. There are two decks - one with an outdoor table and chairs for eating amongst the trees, and the other leading to the spa has shade sails and lounging chairs for relaxing. Fantails, Kereru and tomtits grace the pristine bush surrounding the Faraway Forest guesthouse. Faraway Forest guesthouse is self-catering. Just bring your own food and cook meals using the equipment provided in the kitchenette. You'll find cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, and utensils. If you want a break from cooking and feel like a meal out, it's a five minute drive to the eateries in Punakaiki where there are a number of cafes and restaurants to choose from. Greymouth 40 minutes South and Westport 50 minutes North, also have plenty of eating out places to offer. The nearest supermarkets are in both Westport and Greymouth for stocking up on supplies before you get here. Faraway Forest guesthouse itself has a range of games, some books, yoga mats for guest use and of course, the outdoor spa to while away the hours. But if you're keen to get out and about, there are lots of sights to see - and some fun ways to see them! Guest access Guests staying in the Faraway Forest have access to the immediate surroundings of the guesthouse. This includes off street parking, private access to a connected patio entrance, a side deck and spa pool bathing area The hosts live on site, but you will have the self contained private 30 square meter space to yourself. Other things to note For your comfort we advise the following: There is an art studio on the property You will need a vehicle to visit places in Punakaiki, there is no grocery store or public transport You will need suitable footwear to access the Truman beach, there is a local access track 30m from the guesthouse Please respect the local wildlife Please note that our guesthouse is in a popular summer destination. You may hear other guests or nearby holiday activity, it’s all part of the relaxed summer atmosphere.
