Mahakipaoa Cabin

Mahakipaoa Cabin is a rustic, cosy cabin on our lifestyle block that overlooks the Mahakipaoa arm. It is a single room containing one queen bed and a small couch and kitchenette. The toilet and shower are in an outdoor unit next to the cabin. Parking is available right next to the cabin. The space Mahakipaoa Cabin was at the turn of the century a gold mining cabin. It was relocated and rebuilt on our property in the 80's, and extensively renovated in 2025 while still trying to preserve its original character and charm. Mahakipaoa Cabin is now permanently located on our 3.4 ha lifestyle block overlooking the tidal Mahakipaoa arm, bordered by paddocks containing our many farm pets, chickens, ducks, sheep and cows. Pets are only allowed to come if approved in advance by us. While you stay you will have access to an outdoor shower and toilet unit that is situated right next to the cabin. The cabin contains a queen sized bed, and is best suited to two people, but if you have a child you are welcome to set them up to sleep on the play couch which can be reconfigured into a small bed. If you select a child while booking, we will provide extra sheets, pillows and blankets for them. Directly across from the cabin are our beehives. The bees will not bother you, but if you are allergic, please bring along your medication just in case. If you wish to taste our honey, let me know and I will leave some out for you! Mahakipaoa Cabin is rustic and charming, cosy and warm, and we look forward to welcoming you to come and enjoy our slice of paradise here in the Marlborough Sounds. Guest access You are welcome to explore the property as long as you close gates behind you. Other things to note There is a weber BBQ for cooking on, otherwise a local pub just a short walk or drive down the road. You can park next to the cabin on the grass.
