Full kitchen, laundry, outdoor shower & gazebo. Perfect for couples, friends or families. Let Ocean Oasis be your paradise escape! The space Come and experience your own private getaway. An Oasis is defined as a refuge, relief, or pleasant change from what is usual. Ocean Oasis is just that. The house sleeps 6. It has 3 bedroom and 2 full bathrooms with showers and tubs. The master bedroom set off of the kitchen is its own suite! The other rooms have one queen bed and two single beds respectively. Please make use of the various books, games, toys, DVDs, and beach equipment in the twin guest room and nearby hall closet. Satellite Wifi is available, as well as a 43" Roku TV to stream Netflix, Amazon Prime and other services which can be accessed with your own account. Ocean Oasis was crafted in a Bahamian style, keeping the interior cool with traditional, vaulted, open-beamed ceilings, and a mosaic of natural stone gracing the walls. A perfect blend of charm and functionality. Decorated with balance of beach chique and updated modern conveniences, Ocean Oasis offers it all. The open concept kitchen has a full sized fridge, gas stove, microwave and dishwasher, all cookware and utensils and other necessities, as well as an eat-in island that seats 3. The large glass-topped dining room table seats 8. The wide main deck also has an 2 umbrellas, one at the table for outdoor seating, and another up by the lounge chair. The master suite has access to the main deck and also its own private balcony! After a sunbaked day of playing in the surf, fishing, jumping into a deep Blue Hole, swimming with sea turtles or walking through a bat cave, make use of the outdoor shower to clean the sand from between your toes. If the weather permits, you can hang your swimmers and towels on the clothesline to dry. There is also a full sized washer and dryer for your convenience. Please be patient, they are not overly new and the salt air is harsh on appliances. The poor dryer can be finicky. The sun does wonders for drying, however, and so do the ocean breezes! Your evening meal will be a joy as you can clean your fresh fish outside on the lower patio fish cleaning station, and grill your catch with some fresh veggies on the small Weber propane grill. Enjoy sun-downer cocktails from the gazebo on the main lawn or as you watch the sun go down over the the ocean from the upper deck. Gaze up at the night sky and ask yourself when the last time was that you saw so many stars! A perfect ending to a perfect day. Your Ocean Oasis paradise. Guest access The entire house and all of the grounds are there for your use. The garage and two owner's closets (one in the master bedroom) and two kitchen cabinets are locked for the owner's personal use. The rest is yours to make use of throughout your stay! Other things to note * Coffee and spices and a few other pantry items are there for your use, but not often replenished. They are only there while supplies last, if you finish something, please be kind and replace it for the next guest. Power Eleuthera is an island in the tropics. Weather, sea water and other factors may contribute to possible power outages. Please be patient with the island. Water The water for Ocean Oasis comes from the heavens above. It is powerfully filtered so completely safe to drink. We added a second filtration system specifically for drinking water in the kitchen (small faucet next to the kitchen sink faucet). BUT because it is rain water, and not an endless supply, please be considerate and conserve it. Animals The island is home to many, animals, though not many harmful ones. You may see the occasional gecko or insect in the home. They are not harmful, please try to respect them. "No See Ums"/ Gnats and Mosquitos come out mostly at dawn and dusk, but here is no getting away from them. Bug spray in the hall closet is available for your use, while supplies last. Stray cats and "Potcakes" may show up for some affection and water or a snack. Don't feel obligated, but they come and go and someone is always taking care of them. A few stray cats roam the grounds, but one particular kitty, Sugar, has an injured paw and shows up at the main deck door most mornings and evenings. She is spayed and vaccinated and sweet but a bit skittish. If you are gentle she may come to you. We have left some cat food for her in the pantry for guests if they want to treat her. But not to worry, the neighbors feed her too! "Potcakes", if you haven't heard the term, are the stray dogs you will find all over The Bahamas. The name potcake comes from what the Bahamans call the burned rice at the bottom of the pan. Sometimes you want it, sometimes you throw it away. Potcakes are usually the friendlies of friends. Really sweet and happy dogs. The Department of Agriculture is tracking the ones who have collars and they seem to be well taken care of. They show up to visit with guests and come and go as they please. If you ignore them, they will go away. If you give them attention, water or food they will still go away after a while, but may (or may not) come back during your stay.
