Welcome to your Huntington hideaway in the Enslow Park neighborhood, 1.7 miles from Marshall University, 1 mile from Cabell Huntington Hospital, and 2 miles from I-64. This 4-bedroom, 2-bath home is cozy enough for 1 person but sleeps 7 and features a pet-friendly fenced yard, eclectic décor, washer/dryer, Roku TVs, and a fully stocked kitchen. Whether you’re here for work, a Marshall event, a visit with family, or a getaway in Appalachia, this home is a cozy, convenient base for your stay. As a frequent traveler and user of AirBnB since 2012, I've always found that the special little touches/perks are what make a stay inviting and memorable. My goal is to provide those special touches that make you 100% sure you made the right choice when you chose the Jewel City Bungalow. These touches/perks include: No cleaning fee (I clean the house myself, so I can make sure it's done right) No pet fee (I love animals and travel with mine all the time!) Tushy bidets on both toilets. (Whether you're a bidet fan or just want to be adventurous, get a refreshing clean worthy of a 5-star European hotel.) Tabletop fans or a window unit in each bedroom (I like to have a little noise and wind while I sleep, and maybe you do too!). Extra pillows, with options! (2 firm and 2 soft pillows on each bed. Go ahead and be greedy, use them all, you deserve it!) Full-length mirrors in each of the 4 bedrooms. (Need to make sure you're looking good and fresh for work, a family visit, an event, or a night out? You won't have to look far to find a mirror in this house!) Extension cords mounted to each end table on both sides of every bed. (No more getting on the ground to find a plug-in for your devices to charge or for your CPAP machine!) Shower wands in both showers give you control of where you want your water to go. Drinks and snacks to greet you! Water and soft drinks will be cold and ready in the fridge, Starbucks K-cups are stocked for when you need a pick-me-up, and you'll be greeted with a variety of healthy and not-so-healthy snacks. And more! 🏡 ABOUT THE HOUSE: The Jewel City Bungalow is about 1,200 sq. ft. and was built in the 50s in the tucked-away neighborhood of Enslow Park. Keep the size of the house in mind when booking. Even though the house accommodates 7 people, it is still a bungalow, so the common areas/shared spaces are not huge. 🛏️ BEDROOMS: This inviting home offers four comfortable bedrooms (three queen beds and one full bed), each with its own theme. Each bedroom has two nightstands/side tables with easily accessible plug-ins to charge your phone or other devices. Three bedrooms have Roku TVs, and each bed has four pillows for a luxurious and comfortable night's sleep. On the main floor, you'll find the St. Louis Room (one queen bed) and the World Traveler Room (one queen bed) with a private full bath and laundry room attached. In the finished attic, you have your choice between the Greek Room (queen bed and a convertible sofa) and the Marshall Room (full bed). NOTES ABOUT THE UPSTAIRS SPACE: To access the Marshall Room, you have to step through the side part of the Greek Room, which means it is not 100% private. The two bedrooms in the finished attic space are accessed using stairs that are steeper and narrower than typical stairs. Although there are handrails, these bedrooms will be more difficult to access and are therefore not recommended for people with limited mobility or young children. 🛁 BATHROOMS AND LAUNDRY: The house has two full bathrooms. The hall bathroom includes a bathtub/shower combo. The full bath attached to the World Traveler room includes a large shower and a washer and dryer for the convenience of in-house laundry—perfect for families, groups, or longer stays. All Free and Clear laundry detergent and dryer sheets are provided. 🍳 KITCHEN: The kitchen has brand-new appliances and everything you'll need to make meals, whether you want to cook breakfast or have an evening in, to save money on takeout. The refrigerator has filtered water, an auto-fill pitcher so you'll always have cold, clean drinking water, and two working ice makers. 🌳 BACKYARD: The private, fully fenced backyard is shaded and dog-friendly and includes a deck with a table, five chairs, and a Weber gas grill. 🌡️ TEMPERATURE: There's a smart thermostat in the living room that can be adjusted as needed. It's usually set to 68, but you can change it and then click "until I change it" for the duration, and it will stay at your desired temperature. The Marshall Room (upstairs) runs cooler or hotter than the rest of the house, depending on the outside temperature. There's a heater (with remote control) and a window unit AC to help you achieve your ideal temperature. 🅿️ PARKING: There is room for one car in the driveway and one car in the grassy area in front of the white fence. If you have additional vehicles, there is parking on the city-owned grassy areas, but please let me know if you'll need to use that. 📋 HOUSE MANUAL/RULES: I want your stay to be comfortable, so these "rules" are about mutual respect and not to make you feel nervous that you might do something wrong. 🤝 MUTUAL RESPECT: By booking, you agree to respect our property and our neighbors. We are in a safe, quiet, and friendly residential neighborhood. Please keep noise levels low, especially after 10 PM. 🐾 PETS: Pets Welcome, NO Fee: We love hosting your furry friends! You are welcome to bring your pet at no extra charge. Please be a responsible pet parent by thoroughly cleaning up all waste and fur (especially for shedding breeds). If excessive pet fur or mess is left behind, you will be charged a $75 cleaning fee. 🚭 SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere inside the house. Any evidence of indoor smoking will result in a $200 cleaning fee. Outdoor smoking is fine on the front porch or back deck (there is an ashtray on the back deck). If you choose to smoke outdoors, please dispose of all cigarette butts and ashes responsibly. 🧳 CHECKING OUT: I intentionally keep your checkout simple and have no crazy chore list! Please treat the house with respect and leave it in good condition. I only ask that you clean up after yourself to the best of your ability. You do not need to strip the beds. Please put all used towels on the bathroom floor. Two closets are locked for the owner's supplies, but there is a closet in three of the four bedrooms and a hall closet for guests' things.
