Description
This log framed home was built in the 80's and was home to our family of four for decades. It was built with love by my husband (and my dad) from timber he logged and milled himself. We are excited to now be offering this unique home for others to experience. There is a panoramic view from the deck of the Olympic Mountains and Lake Quinault that will keep you coming back. We promise! The space We are renting the main floor (full kitchen/full bathroom/living room), loft upstairs (one king bed), and one small bedroom (twin bed) and a small bathroom (sink/toilet/shower) downstairs. This is the perfect spot for three people to enjoy. The lower deck downstairs by the twin room is off limits because we are putting in a new deck. This should be complete by June of 2026. The upper deck off the main floor is brand new and fully usable with a propane BBQ. This is by far the best deck/view. The other part of the house downstairs is closed off to guests as we use it for our supply room, etc. The upper deck boasts an incredible view (which you can also see from inside the house) and my favorite spot is the recliner that looks out at the lake through the sliding glass door. It's the perfect spot to read a good book. Our water is gravity fed from a mountain stream. We use it for cooking, showering, etc. but just to be safe, please bring your own drinking water. Also, we do not have wifi. Our TV has a Roku so that you can stream shows using your hotspot. We also have 3 different types of adapters for your devices if needed. Guest access You will enter onto the main floor that has a bathroom (tub/shower), front living room/dining room and full kitchen. This is also where the main deck is. Upstairs is the loft that has a king sized bed and a door for privacy. Downstairs from the main floor is a small bathroom (shower/sink/toilet) and a small bedroom with a twin bed. No lower deck access because of remodel in progress until June 2026. Other things to note Please understand that we do not have a SMART TV or wifi. Our large 45" TV in the living room will stream using the provided ROKU stick as long as you have a hotspot from your phone that you can connect to. Cell phones work well here ( especially AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile). We also have an HDMI cord to connect to a laptop, as well as 2 other types of adapters found in the kitchen “junk” drawer. Also, bring your own drinking water. Our water comes from a mountain stream and we cook and shower with it but we drink bottled water just to be safe. If you are renting in the November -March months especially, please note that we occasionally have power outages due to storms and trees coming down. We do live in a forest after all! The power company generally gets power back on in a few hours but sometimes it may be longer. Our water still runs (gravity flow) so toilets can be flushed and showers work with hot water until the hot water runs out. We also have a propane BBQ for cooking and a small one burner butane camp stove. We also provide you with three battery powered lanterns. If you don’t want to risk this adventure, probably rent elsewhere because no refunds will be given unless it’s an unusual circumstance. Thanks for understanding! On another note - I always appreciate late check outs and early arrivals when I am traveling. Feel free to ask me if this is an option or not for your dates. I will do my best if I can!
