Primrose Cottage - Family home, peaceful location

Primrose Cottage is a charming pet-friendly home within Dittisham Court. Peace and tranquillity reflect all around – from the soft furnishings in the living space to the soothing bedrooms. French doors open to overlook the communal orchards and gardens. Plus, there’s patio seating for summer lunches and suppers. Park the car on-site and take a short walk to the village shop and pub, as well as the quayside where you can catch a boat to Dartmouth, or picnic in the riverside meadow. The space Primrose Cottage is a lovely pet friendly cottage on Dittisham Court. A very pretty end of terrace, south facing cottage that overlooks the peaceful communal orchard and gardens. Primrose Cottage offers comfortable furnishings and good facilities for a peaceful, couples get away or a small family holiday. The cottage is the heart of the village only a short walk from the village pubs and shop as well as the quayside. Crabbing from the pontoon is a firm favourite for children and the nearby Ham provides a great space for them to let off steam. Pet friendly, parking onsite. Accommodation: The front door leads into the hallway with space for coats and boots. Straight through to the light and airy sitting room with sofa and armchairs, TV with DVD player. French doors fill the room with light and take you out to the sunny patio with garden furniture. A the near end of the room there is a dining area with table and chairs for 4. Primrose Cottage benefits from a well-equipped kitchen with modern cream cupboards, electric oven and hob, microwave, integrated dishwasher, integrated fridge/freezer, washing machine and DAB radio. A serving hatch connects the kitchen to the living room. On the ground floor there is also a small cloakroom with toilet and wash basin. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, the master bedroom has a kingsize bed and views across the orchard and village, with a chest of drawers, built in wardrobe and en suite shower room with power shower and wash basin. The second bedroom is a twin room with 2 x 3’ beds and built in wardrobe. There is also a family bathroom with bath, electric shower over, toilet and wash basin on this floor. Travel cot and highchair on request Central heating Larger Groups Primrose Cottage is part of a group of properties that can accommodate 24 guests in total (Damson (4 guests), Orchard (4 Guests), Willow (4 Guests), Barnfield (4 Guests) and Shippon End (4 guests). If you are coming away as a family and are looking to accommodate a larger family we may well be able to help you. All properties are within a short walk of each other (some neighbouring). Please do contact us to discuss dates and availability. Outside: Primrose Cottage benefits from a sunny patio that extends round the side of the cottage accessed via the French doors from the living room. With garden furniture and views across the shared orchard this is the perfect spot for a peaceful alfresco meal or quiet spot to sit and read. The orchard is accessible via a few steps at the end of the patio area. Guests also have access to the 4 acres of communal ground on Dittisham Court this includes large grassy areas with vantage points over Bow Creek and over towards The Quay, as well as the orchard at the bottom. Guests are welcome to exercise dogs on the grounds however we ask they are kept on leads. Parking: There is a private parking space for one car outside the front of cottage. Please note you need to drive under an arch with a height restriction of 7'6". Nearby: The village pub The Red Lion is a 5 minute walk around the corner, The Red Lion also hosts the village shop and post office. A 10 minute walk will take you to The Quay where you will find the Ferry Boat Inn and The Anchorstone Cafe as well as ferries to Greenway and Dartmouth. The closest beach is Blackpool Sands a 10 minute drive away. Availability: In the peak season, May, June, July and August we need to keep to Saturday changeovers and a minimum stay of 7 nights. However, please do contact us with any requests you may have and we will accommodate if possible. Out of peak season we don't need to keep to a Saturday changeover. Please get in touch if you need any advice or tips on places to visit, walks (we're right on the South West Coast path), pubs & restaurants etc. Guest access Guests have access to the whole house as well as the private patio and 4 acres of communal gardens. Other things to note Bed linens, pillows, duvets, basic soaps, toilet and kitchen roll are all provided however we do not provide towels at Primrose Cottage.
