The House of the Trellis
The House of the Trellis
La Maison de la Treille
Description
In an old farm in the heart of a hamlet, this house accommodates 2 to 6 people for a stay in the Périgord-Limousin Natural Park. The space The vine that shades the terrace, open to the courtyard, gives its name to the house: summer lunches under the shade of the trellis, and late dinners in the heat restored by the dry stones of the barn wall... Beyond the courtyard, the garden, to take a nap in the shade of the cherry trees. In winter, the masonry stove will warm the atmosphere of the living room. Upstairs: 2 bedrooms (1 with double bed and 1 with 2 twin beds); and in the attic, the loggia with 2 twin beds, and a bath area (bathtub and sink). The bathroom (shower) and toilet (separate) are on the ground floor. The owners' accommodation is adjoining, and you can, if you wish, enjoy the table d'hôtes, for family cooking (with wood fire from the fireplace in winter) with local products and/or from the vegetable garden. Guest access The owners' accommodation is adjoining: the outdoor spaces are therefore shared, but the use of the terrace is reserved for you. Most often on site, I have to access the stables, barn and workshop that open onto the courtyard: you can therefore meet me, or even work with me in the vegetable garden! In winter, I take care of lighting the masonry stove twice a day: I should therefore make an incursion into the living room, with your agreement on the schedules. Other things to note Metchka, a young Malinese woman lives here: very affectionate and playful, she will be delighted to come and say hello outside - but never comes without permission to the house reserved for you. Your pet is welcome, but in this case bedding is not provided. A fenced area is accessible behind the house. But in the front, the courtyard being open, you'll have to keep it under surveillance.
