We are located in Valtellina’s green heart, few minutes away from the old town centre, the railway station of Bernina Express, running on the UNESCO World Heritage Rhaetian Railway, the basilica of Madonna di Tirano and the national border between Italy and Switzerland. Our flat is 500m apart from the Stations Square. Nestled on the sunny side of the valley, in Reghenzani Street 1, next to the scenic terraced vinyards, Casa Acero will allow you to explore the landscape through innumerable paths. The space Welcome to Casa Acero! Right at the heart of Valtellina, only steps away from the old town, the Rhaetian Railway station, part of the UNESCO World Heritage, and close to the shrine of Madonna di Tirano and to the Swiss border. Our newly built flat offers a double room with a smaller private restroom, a room with two singles bed for the bigger families and, in between, a bigger bathroom with shower and a laundry corner. Our walk-in closet is ready for you to make your staying more comfortable all the year round, just as our open space with a fully equipped cooking area and a relax area with a convertible sofa and a full HD TV screen. From our wide windows, the green sight of the garden will delight you on all sides of the house. There you will find a small maple, acero in Italian, from which our holiday home was gifted its name. Our front garden is furnished with an outdoor table where you can enjoy a cosy breakfast or a hearty meal in the serene mountaineous atmosphere, or simply relish a sunset. Included in the price is a spacious garage just below the flat, also accessible through the internal stairs. Recommendation corner From Casa Acero, several local treasures will disclose for you in a short trip on foot or by car: - the Rhaetian Railway station, where you can jump on the Bernina Express to St. Moritz, is 500m afar; - on its right at the Stations Square you will find railway connections to Milan; - the Marian basilica of Madonna di Tirano is 1km afar, reachable on a pleasurable walk on the tree-lined avenue across town; - Bormio Thermal Baths, 40km away from Tirano, are reachable by car or bus; - Livigno, renowned touristic resort, stands 70km from Tirano and offers yearlong its alluring entertainments: trails, MTB tracks, ski slopes, a shopping village, a family friendly aquapark and a wellness centre, Aquagranda; - the all-time favourite Como Lake is 70km in the other directions, for a boat trip or a stroll on Varenna’s lakeside romantic promenade. Some trekking trails start right next to our flat, including an itinerary on an old bridleway amongst the terraced vinyards, taking to the uphill villages of Roncaiola and Baruffini. The Sentiero Valtellina – Italian for Valtellina Path – a cycle lane connecting Colico, on top of Como Lake, to Bormio, alongside the river Adda, has various access points around town. From the Basilica Square, right to the feet of the church in the neighbourhood of Madonna, a stunning hike across the vinyards will bring you to the medieval church of St. Perpetua, where you can admire a breathtaking sight down on Tirano and up to the landscape.
