Mountain lodge with 11 beds at top of Norway
Description
This is a mountain lodge/ chalet/ cottage with 11 beds, 4 bedrooms, sauna, bathroom with heated floor, washing machine and shower on 1000 meters altitude above sealevel with road to the door. There is a huge network of paths and skiing tracks starting outside the lodge and it is situated at the start of the famous Jotunheimen mountain reserve in Norway. The local village Skåbu (Skaabu) with a church, school, restaurant and supermarket is the highest altitude inhabited village in northern Europe. The space We ask guests to bring their own towels and bedlinen if possible. It is a small village and very difficult to get hold of cleaning staff unfortunately, they normally have to come from the neighbouring town Vinstra 30 minutes drive away, so the cleaning fee is already too high in our opinion, for just cleaning and preparing the place for guests, but that is because of all the travelling for the cleaning staff. So if it is possible for guests to bring bedlinen and towels, then that is much cheaper for you, but there are bedlinen and towels at the lodge, so if you travel light and it is more convenient for you to use our bedlinen and towels we can ask the cleaning staff if they have time to put on our bedlinen and wash it afterwards and how much it will be. Perhaps they have plenty of time and can do it cheaply, but we will need to ask the cleaning staff each time. There are 3 bedrooms in the main lodge and 1 bedroom in an annex adjacent to the lodge but with its own entrance. 1 room with a wide double bed and a big bed/ mattress in the attic above (reached with a ladder, popular among kids), 1 room with a wide double bed and a single bed above, 1 room with 4 single beds, two and two on top of each other. The bedroom in the annex has 3 single beds, one on top of the other. There are in total 8 single beds, 2 double beds and 2 big double mattresses you can leave in the attic or put wherever you prefer. We chose to make a separate annex so that a few can have abit more privacy than others. Those who eventually want to stay in the annex need to go outside to enter the living room, kitchen and bathroom from this annex, not very practical during the night perhaps, but nice to have privacy for those who choose to sleep in the annex. Only a 7 meters walk but particularly for those who sleep there it can be smart to bring headlamps for the night.
