The Farmhouse at Ledges Retreat - mountain views

The Farmhouse is spacious and sunny, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. It has a fully equipped kitchen and a large patio (with BBQ) from which to enjoy the view. The Farmhouse is part of Ledges Retreat, a small, country style guest farm in the Northern Drakensberg that is located in a very picturesque and peaceful valley. We are close to a number of attractions, including the Royal Natal National Park, All Out Adventures and over 100kms of world-class mountain bike trails! The space Ledges Retreat is a peaceful, beautiful place, close to the Royal Natal National Park (approx. 20 minutes by car). The Royal Natal National Park is home to the Amphitheatre and the Tugela Falls - and offers incredibly scenic and varied hiking trails. The Farmhouse is ideal for 4 adults and 2 children and is a home away from home, with guests able to cater for themselves in the fully equipped kitchen. The unit also has free WIFI and a smart TV. The Farmhouse has a fireplace in the lounge to ward off the chill on cold winter nights. After a day exploring, guests can relax on the patio and enjoy the incredible sunset as well as that great South African tradition, a braai! The unit is cleaned on the day of arrival, should you need it to be serviced during your stay, this can be arranged at a cost of R250 per day. Guest access Guests will have the Farmhouse all to themselves and there is also a lovely lawn in front of the unit for the kids to run around on. Our property is approx. 73 hectares and guests are welcome to explore. The Putterrill Spruit runs along the bottom of the property and has lots of rock pools for kids to splash around in. From your patio you can enjoy the incredible mountain views - our sunsets are amazing! There are also plenty of walking trails in the area for you to enjoy as well as our swimming pool - which has views that are definitely out of this world! Other things to note Breakfast can be enjoyed in our dining room - booking is essential - at R150pp (kids under 10 pay half). Dinner is also available at R200pp. Dinner is a set buffet consisting of a meat dish, starch, vegetables and salads and a dessert. Guests also receive a soft drink or bottle of water with their meal. Please book in advance for dinner. We do not sell alcohol as we are not licensed, however you are welcome to bring your own to enjoy with your dinner. If you are cooking for yourself, please remember to bring all your groceries with as we are far from shops. The closest town is Bergville (approx. 40kms away) and Harrismith (50kms). We also do not sell alcohol so please bring your own. Please remember charcoal and firelighters if you are planning a braai. All linen and bath towels are supplied. If you would like a swimming towel, please enquire at reception. If you are anticipating a late check in, please let us know and we can then wait for you or explain how to find the Farmhouse. Laundry can be done for a small fee.
