Batalden Ishus is located right on the waterfront of beautiful Fanøy in the archipelago west of Florø. The old ice house was built in 1936, but the distinctive building has been completely renovated and maintains a modern standard. We offer accommodation in a large holiday apartment with 10 beds in 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Well-equipped kitchen, living room, dining room with beautiful lake views. The space Fanøy is an idyllic and peaceful island with around 60 permanent residents. Nice hiking areas on marked trails in the wilderness. Possibility of great mountain trips on nearby islands. From the top of Store Batalden 492 m.a.s.l. you can enjoy the view of the beautiful nature that makes the archipelago outside Florø completely unique. In winter you can enjoy spectacular nature experiences in the most stormy area in Southern Norway. Here you get close to the elements and the amazing winter light. November to February is the peak season for storms, and Ishuset is ideally located, right on the shore with the North Sea as the nearest neighbor. It is well insulated and solidly built. Here you can fire in the oven and have a good and warm time while it is storming outside. Other things to note The grocery store is located right next to Batalden Icehouse, and there you can buy everything you need for your stay. The store is self-service with opening hours from 7 am to 11 pm every day of the week. It is also possible to buy fish and shellfish from local fishermen on the island.
