Modern home with ground level guest suite located in charming Chicken Hill. Chicken Hill is a quiet residential neighborhood located between vibrant downtown Asheville and the River Arts District. PRIME LOCATION if you want to be within a mile of just about everything Asheville has to offer including restaurants, breweries, art galleries, the French Broad River Greenway and live music venues. Please note there is not a full kitchen. We provide a mini-fridge, microwave, and Nespresso machine. The space Our guests have a private entrance down an exterior stairwell which wraps around the left side of the house. There you will enter a private courtyard with benches and a fire pit. Inside, guests can cozy up in the primary bedroom on a super comfortable four-poster Queen bed with a memory foam mattress. The adjoining living room has a full-size sleeper sofa and kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave and Nespresso espresso machine. There is not a full kitchen. The rooms are connected by a jack-and-jill style bathroom fully stocked with all necessities. The cupboard in the hallway is stocked with glasses, mugs, utensils, plates, napkins, wine glasses, wine opener, cheese platter, and an ice bucket. Both rooms contain smart TVs with a variety of digital streaming platforms for your viewing pleasure. The bedroom contains an iHome, a full-size closet with hangers, dresser and a professional grade steamer. Something to know ahead of time is that there is some breezeway noise as we have an interior stair-well connecting the suite to the main floor of the house. Guests can expect to hear the occasional sounds of our coming and going through the main entrance, and the occasional quiet whir of the tankless water heater located in the closet. Otherwise, we are a quiet family and you shouldn’t expect to see us unless you need anything. Guest access Guests will have full reign of the ground level suite and their own private courtyard. You will also have control of the thermostat at the base of the stairwell. There is a secure door in the interior stairwell which connects the guest suite to the main floor of the house, we ask that our guests please respect our request to remain on the lower floor as we will respect your privacy throughout your stay. Other things to note Guests will be able to street-park for free in front of the house or use our driveway if you have a high clearance vehicle as there is a steep pitch in the driveway. Please let us know in advance if you would like to park in the driveway so that we can make sure it is available for you. Being able to go up and down stairs is a necessity, as the entrance to the suite is down a flight of stairs. Baby Bull (high-end burgers and lobster rolls), The Grey Eagle (awesome, intimate music venue with a taqueria that serves delicious Latin-American food) Brews and Cocktails: Wedge Studios (serves local beer, spacious outdoor setting, well-priced pitchers, always has a good food truck), New Belgium Brewing (just over the bridge, award-winning beers, employee owned), RAD Brewery (great spot across from All Souls Pizza), Anoche (adorable tequila bar across from All Souls Pizza), The Radical Hotel (rooftop bar at sunset for cocktails or mocktails). West Asheville Breakfast: Sunnypoint (american comfort food all day long), Biscuit Head (huge, delicious biscuits), Hole Doughnuts (coffee and handmade donuts right before your eyes!), Taco Billy (breakfast tacos and locally sourced goodies such as Penny Cup Coffee, Kombucha, AppalaChai), Simple (healthy vegetarian and vegan options). Lunch/Dinner: Nine Mile West (Caribbean inspired pasta shop, vegetarian friendly) Gan Shan West (East Asian cuisine, locally sourced ingredients), Standard Pizza (pizza by the slice, cute patio set-up), The Admiral (cozy, romantic, rotating menu), Dobra Tea House (healthy drinks, desserts, salads and sandwiches), Botiwalla (award winning Indian street food), Jargon (High-end cuisine), Thai Pearl (yummy Thai).
