“Big Bend Glamping” is a unique, off-grid (no electricity or water) desert experience situated in a mountain valley just outside of Terlingua and Big Bend NP. The Cosmic Campsite at “Big Bend Glamping” If you’re looking to camp near Big Bend NP, I don’t think many spots can beat the Cosmic Campsite. Located in a mountain valley surrounded by peaks on all sides, you’ll wake up in the morning to the sun dancing across Nine-Point Mesa. The view at this campsite is the best on the entire Big Bend Glamping property. We have added a new, 20’ Avalon Bell Canvas Tent that accommodates up to 7 glampers! Follow us at: @BigBendGlamping INCLUDED AS PART OF YOUR STAY: - Private, cleared campsite - 20’ Avalon Bell Canvas Tent that can accommodate up to 7 glampers! - 7 chairs and small table, plus a private picnic table - Fire pit and grill - Very clean Port-a-potties - Access to a full service bathroom with nice showers ($2 per person payable at Terlingua Ranch Lodge Office), a pool (pay $8.50 per person per day at front desk), washer/dryer (coin operated) and a great restaurant at the Terlingua Ranch Lodge. The Lodge is a 10 mile drive east on Terlingua Ranch Road. - Millions of stars - Wildlife including roadrunners, jackrabbits, variety of lizards, coyotes, javelina, prairie dogs and kangaroo mice. - Incredible beauty. The property is surrounded by mountains with 9 Point Mesa to the north, Jack Eden Mesa to the east, the Corazones Peaks to the south, and Camel’s Hump to the west. Watch unforgettable sunrises and sunsets every day. - A chance to slow down, relax, experience beauty, enjoy the moment and do something adventurous. NOT INCLUDED AS PART OF YOUR STAY: - Bed linens. You’ll need to bring your own pillows, blankets, sheets, etc. This is a remote campsite and this allows me to keep costs low. It always gets cooler than you’d expect overnight in the desert, so make sure you bring enough to stay warm. - Food and water. Make sure you bring tons of water and are drinking it constantly!! This is a harsh climate out here, but if you stay hydrated you’ll be fine. I recommend going to Porter’s (grocery store) in Alpine on your way in and loading up there. - Power in your trailer. The only outlets available are in the community Lajitas Library trailer. - Full showers. There are also great showers at the Terlingua Ranch Lodge just up the road which all “Big Bend Glamping” guests can utilize for $2 per person. Myself (Lee) and my wife (Melanie) are FULLY available to you before, during, and after your trip to answer questions not just about the Big Bend Glamping property, but about the entire region. One of the owners, Lee, is a professional photographer/tour guide who has been exploring Big Bend National Park and the surrounding region for over 30+ years. We allow self check-in/check-out but some of you may be greeted at some point during your stay. We are just fine with as much or as little interaction as you desire. Big Bend Country has a distinct feel to it. It’s a special part of our nation. The land is rugged and beautiful. The distances are great. The people are rebels and wanderers and independent thinkers. There are no chains or corporations out here. It’s the American frontier. If you haven’t experienced it, you might not even realize places like this still exist. And that’s why it’s great. We do our best to find the same brand of tent (we tend to use White Duck Outdoors canvas tents) and same design. But on occasion, the exact tent replacement may or may not be available. When a tent is replaced, you can rest assured we will make sure the sleeping capacity of the tent is exactly the same (i.e. if the prior tent slept 4 the new tent will sleep 4). However, it MAY occur that the images of the tent you booked and the one you actually have on site may differ. We can't help guest and or storm damage. Please be aware that we will NOT grant refunds because a tent looks or is different. The key feature is sleeping capacity. We do our best, but demand is VERY high for glamping tents and it may be that we can't get the exact same brand or design. We thank you for your understanding.
