The space The most central location in town, enjoy the smells from our local bakery, the harmonies of Jazz night on Tuesdays, whilst still being fully immersed in nature. Before we get to the fun bit there are 2 things you should know. Anyone who has not left a 5 star has the same 2 complaints that were in the description but we want to make them even clearer as to not disappoint any future guests. #1 There is no shower. Just a bath. WHY? We chose to put a giant window in the bathroom in lieu of the shower that used to live there. Most guests are delighted to slow down and take in the view instead of a shower which would block it but for some this is a deal breaker. #2 There is no dining room table. WHY? If you stay with us you will see that the space it tricky to work with a table. We have tried. We provide dinner trays and we personally love to sit by the fire and eat off the coffee table. In the summer it is glorious to eat outside on the large table. Eco Luxury- Most of the furniture is hand crafted from refurbished antique wood found on the property. Our lights are all solar or LED powered. Even our Hot Tub, and heating systems are energy efficient. No single use plastic . Recycling and Composting available and encouraged. We provide organic toiletries for your convenience. None of that ultra stripping, plastic abusing mini bottles you get everywhere else. To preserve the integrity of the cabin and it's charm, it is important to know that these old cabins were not well insulated when built. During the winter we recommend bringing lots of warm clothes. We have heaters and great bedding that will keep you warm, but some like to be extra toasty in which case cabins in Idyllwild are not the best fit unless they are modern structures. We have an old fashion clawfoot bath overlooking the entire backyard which is one of the relaxing highlights of the cabin, there is no shower with it, just the bath. This is cowboy style at it's finest. Bedding- High end mattresses, down comforter, crisp organic bamboo cotton linens, state of the art pillows. We want you to have the best night's sleep. Fantastic towels as well. Did we mention that we love great quality everything yet? Large, central, 3/4's of an acre yard with life size games, Giant connect 4, Giant Janga, Horse Shoe Pit and a plethora of regular size games for kids and adults. Books, Puzzles... Everything you need for a comfortable and fun stay! Enjoy some vintage ol'cowboy classics to set the ambiance on the record player. Grab your partner and charm them away with your dance moves (maybe brush up before your stay). Fully equipped kitchen stocked with coffee, tea, and cooking necessities. There is no dinning table indoors as the space is small, but we do have a large table outdoors for the warmer months. Be prepared to have fun family style in an informal, quirky setting! We love to let potential guest know that these old cabins up here are exactly that--quirky and fun, but certainly not the Ritz. We maximize comfort where we think it matters ie beds, toiletries etc. We like to let guests know that if you are looking for a high end, typical hotel experiences (nothing wrong with an ultra luxury spa retreat) there are a couple of modern lodges in Idyllwild that would probably be a better fit ( they will be double the price and only provide a room. But are fantastic). The cabin experience is for those looking for an adventure and excited to travel back to a simpler time (with of course the necessary modern upgrades). Additional blow up high end mattress available (it's actually comfortable). So much wildlife in your backyard; Bunnies, ground squirrels, squirrels, chipmunks, humming birds, woodpeckers, quail, hawks, raccoons, deer. We even had an Eagle land on our fence one day. Ample parking on the property!
