Sunset Cove has the secret ability to convince its guests to linger longer, learn more and to savor each sunset. The property is on the quiet side of the island in an area called the Ferry with endless stretches of clear, quiet waters. This area boasts some of the most incredible sand bars and beaches in the Bahamas. Take your entire party in our kayaks to explore the and bars and wildlife as you'll be a 15- minute kayak ride away from Moriah Cay/Harbour and the Lazy River Sand Flats. Even on windy days, the waters of the Ferry Harbour remain calm. Bring a picnic and park the kayaks on a sand bar to enjoy endless stretches of sandbars that emerge at low tide. Nearby Beaches: There are many amazing beaches nearby to the home such as Forbes Hill Beach, Tropic of Cancer Beach, and Pretty Molly Bay. All of these beaches are within 5 to 10 minutes of the home. Nearby Restaurants: Famous restaurants in Exuma such as Santanna's, Tropic Breeze, and Blu on the Water, are all within 10 minutes of the home. Thank you for considering our home! The space Our beach house is located a 2 minute drive from the Ferry bridge into Little Exuma. It is super easy to access being right off of the Queen's Highway. It is located on the quiet side of the island with endless stretches of clear, quiet waters for all your boating, snorkelling, and fishing needs. Kayak to some of the most amazing sandbars and beaches in the area. Inside the house you will find a spacious bungalow with vaulted ceilings, spacious bedrooms and a full kitchen. The bedrooms consist of a master suite, a guest room and and a third bedroom perfect for kids. This room contains two single over double bunk beds. The cozy, nautical themed living room has 18' of glass doors so you can enjoy your amazing view right from the couch. The dining area can seat 8-10 people with even more space at the bar in the kitchen. Outside, enjoy the sandy beach perfect for sandcastles and beach volleyball. Fish off of the causeway or use it to launch the 7 kayaks from at low tide. Take your entire party in our kayaks to explore the coastline and its many islands, sand bars and blue holes. Even on windy days the waters of the Ferry Harbour remain calm. You are sure to see Sting Ray's and sea turtles. The area is a nature lover's dream! What really makes our property special is it's proximity to the lazy river (sand flats). This incredible place is only a 15 minute kayak ride from the beach house. Head out under the bridge and travel along the East side of Moriah Cay. You will see the 2 openings to the lazy river almost immediatly because of it's incredibly turquoise blue waters. Once you reach the lazy river, let the gentle current push you along. Keep your eyes open and you are sure to see all sorts of marine life, shells and birds as you kayak and swim through miles of mangroves, beaches and tide pools. The far bend of the lazy river hosts the Cut and Lazy River Beach. This is where the ocean meets the quiet waters of the lazy river. Depending on which way the tide is going, it will gently pull you into the sand flats or out to the ocean. Hours of great fun for the entire family. Another great kayak destination is beautiful Moriah harbour. Bring a picnic and park the kayaks on a sand bar. Sit and watch the tide go out and splash and play in the endless stretches of shallow ponds and sand bars that emerge at low tide. Many amazing beaches are just around the corner. A less than 5 minute drive down the road will take you to Forbes Hill Beach. An incredible place to spend the day. This beach is easy to access, is usually empty and even has little ruins to explore. Further down the road you will find Tropic of Cancer Beach. Heading in the opposite direction, onto Great Exuma, you will find many incredible beaches throughout the island. Our house manager can arrange for you a variety of boat excursions. Take a boat to Stocking Island, Sandy Cay, or the Land and Sea Park to see the pigs and Iguanas. Or rent jet skis and spend the day exploring Exuma's 365 islands, most of which are uninhabited. There are many options for dining. Groceries can be purchased in Georgetown or picked up for you and delivered by our house manager. There is also an excellent bakery right in Little Exuma that you will want to visit for sure. Cook up your own dinner in our full kitchen and grill. Many restaurant options are available on both Little Exuma and Great Exuma. Or, for a special treat, have our Chef come and prepare a feast for you right in the house!
