Other things to note Guest Experiences: Private experiences are arranged by SAS Veritatis on the Guest’s behalf and delivered by independent professionals: for these, SAS Veritatis is responsible for selecting and approving each professional with reasonable care and for the premises on which the experience takes place, but does not itself perform the service and is not liable for the manner, quality or safety of the professional’s own performance, which remains the responsibility of that professional. Because we engage and become liable to the independent professional once you confirm, any requested experience, once confirmed, is due and payable whether or not it is taken, and is non-refundable if you, the Guest, cancel; the agreed fee may be charged to the payment method on file. Experiences are normally pre-paid to validate the booking; where a confirmed experience is not pre-paid, the fee remains due on confirmation. The statutory withdrawal right does not apply to leisure and accommodation services supplied on a specified date (article L. 221-28, 12° du Code de la consommation). If we cannot provide a confirmed service, or if we cancel your stay (including on sale or loss of the right to operate, or under force majeure), we refund the experience in full or, at your option, offer a substitute of equivalent value. Rural setting & wildlife The château is set in open countryside. Wild animals, some potentially dangerous, may be present in the grounds and surrounding area. Guests acknowledge the rural environment and are responsible for their own conduct in the grounds. This notice is informational and does not limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Private rentals, events & catering Private rentals, exclusive-use bookings, events, celebrations and catering are subject to additional terms, a separate intake form and a written rental or event agreement, together with applicable fees, deposits and insurance requirements. Those additional terms form part of the contract for such bookings and prevail over these terms in the event of any conflict. A valid insurance certificate and/or holiday-rental insurance policy is required on file prior to arrival. Third-party vendors & professionals All third-party professionals and vendors (chefs, wellness practitioners, planners, entertainment, equipment hire and similar) are independent contractors, not employees, and must be pre-approved and provide, before the rental event, valid liability insurance, a SIRET registration and TVA/VAT documentation. A professional or vendor who arrives without compliant documentation may be refused access, with no refund of the affected booking and no liability to SAS Veritatis or SCI Daedalus. Each operates under their own terms and is responsible for the manner and safety of their own performance. The Guest is responsible for their conduct on the premises. Records SAS Veritatis maintains records of bookings, cancellations and incidents for the management of reservations and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, in accordance with applicable data-protection law. Privatisation (Exclusive Use) Exclusive-use bookings are governed by a separate written rental agreement; this clause summarises the cancellation position and the rental agreement prevails in the event of conflict. Free cancellation with full refund, including any deposit, up to 61 days before arrival. From 60 days before arrival the balance falls due, together with a valid liability-insurance certificate. A €1,500 damage deposit is pre-authorised on the payment method at the arrival walk-through (see clause below) and is not charged unless applied to documented damage. Cancellation from 60 days before arrival forfeits sums paid, except (a) where a refund is required by law, (b) under force majeure per clause 5, and (c) where we cancel under clause 4. Photo ID is required at check-in. Care of the Property, Damage & Charges Guests must handle the château’s furnishings and fixtures with care. Damage, loss or excessive soiling is charged at full repair or replacement cost. Our insurance is maintained on a replacement-value basis. Where we claim on our own insurance, the Guest reimburses any shortfall not met by the insurer — including the policy excess (franchise) and any amount the insurer refuses — supported by the claim documentation. Where damage is identified in your room or elsewhere on the premises, including after check-out, it is recorded on the booking folio with details and the Guest is notified with an itemised record; we produce a priced damage facture and the repair or replacement cost is charged to the payment method on file or, for exclusive-use rentals, against the damage pre-authorisation. By accepting these terms at booking, the Guest authorises such charges. Charges are limited to documented amounts and are invoiced at full replacement cost. Guests are fully responsible for the conduct of their visitors, guests and hired services, and for any resulting damage, loss or disturbance. Liability & indemnity To the fullest extent permitted by law, SAS Veritatis, SCI Daedalus and their owners, directors, heirs, operators and staff are not liable for the Guest’s or their party’s own acts, omissions or negligence, or for loss or damage to the Guest’s property. Guests, their visitors and hired staff indemnify and hold harmless the foregoing against any and all claims, losses, damage, costs or expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising from the acts, omissions or negligence of the Guest or the Guest’s party, or from any breach of these terms. This indemnity does not extend to liability arising from our own fault or negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under French law. Registered guests, visitors & vendor access Only registered guests, their pre-approved visitors and château-approved vendors are permitted on the premises. Unauthorised persons may be required to leave. Commercial use Any commercial use of the property or services requires a separate written contract with the château. Cancellation by Us — Change of Operation or Sale Château de Belet is operated by SAS Veritatis under an arrangement with the property owner. If the property is sold, or we otherwise lose the right to operate, we may (a) suspend or close availability and decline new bookings beyond a stated date; (b) notify any third-party platform on which the booking was made; and (c) cancel an affected confirmed booking on at least 14 days’ notice. On any such cancellation we refund all sums paid — accommodation, private experiences, additional charges, taxes and any deposit — in full, and release any pre-authorisation. Alternatively, at your option, we will seek to offer a substitute property or alternative dates; our obligation to provide a substitute is limited to the core nightly accommodation rate paid, excluding taxes, taxe de séjour, fees and experiences. Accepting a substitute is at your discretion and does not waive your right to a full refund. Refunds are initiated within 14 days. Third-party bank or card fees outside our control are not refundable, and we do not control the date your bank credits a refund. Force majeure (article 1218 Code civil) Neither party is liable for failure or delay caused by an event beyond its reasonable control that could not reasonably have been foreseen or avoided. This clause applies to any and all bookings of any type, existing and future. Where such an event prevents your stay or our performance, we refund in full the sums paid for affected, unperformed services — accommodation, experiences and additional charges — or, by agreement, offer a substitute or credit.
