The space Seterdom is located at the foot of Skarlandsfjellet in Høylandet municipality, in the very north of Trøndelag. It is 1.4 km to walk up to the dome from the parking lot, a trip that takes about 30-40 minutes. We offer a ride up if desired. When you rent the seat, you rent the entire seat and can take advantage of all the amenities that are there. Here are three old seat buildings from the 1780s and 1890s, respectively. Seterfjøset is renovated in partnership with the Heritage Fund, while the other two buildings are next. They are currently standing as they were used when the set ring ended in the 1950s. In the area around the seat there are nice hiking opportunities, and there is, among other things, marked a way up to Skarlandsfjellet. When you get up to the farm, you are alone in the area, and can take advantage of the area in and around the yard as you wish. Other things to note The dome heats up with a wood-burning stove and gas oven, so it will take some time for the dome to warm up. It is therefore recommended to bring some extra clothes to wear on arrival, especially in winter. There is no running water here, but plenty of water in the creek is plentiful. Included in the rent is a 5 liter can of clean drinking water. There is no running power, so from August to May it is advisable to have a pocket or headlamp. Light sources powered by solar cell can be found inside Seterdom. Outside the dome there is a nice sitting area with access to the fire pit. There are firewood and wood briquettes in the dome Refill wood is picked up from the seat spring. We have installed an incineration toilet in one of the buildings, and if the need is great, you have the opportunity to take a shower in the seat shower. This is a simple pump shower where you heat the water yourself. You can also take your shower out, and take a refreshing outdoor shower. In the seat spring you will have a small kitchenette with a gas refrigerator and two gas burners. The gas plates are used for cooking, and are used to heat water needed for the outdoor shower. Here you will also find the barn suite with two single beds that can be booked if you are more than two people going on a trip. There are marked hikes from the area and up towards Skarlandsfjellet. Here you go as far as you want, and if you get to the top, there is a nice fishing water there. The hike all the way up to the top takes about 2 hours.
