Awesome and evocative. Historic house belonging to the Foundation of Historic and Singular Homes of Spain. All the amenities of the 21ST CENTURY, combined with the history of the EIGHTEENTH CENTURY. Divided into two independent apartments that retain some of the original furniture, and with its garden and outdoor spaces under the church bell tower, you can move our guests to the time of its foundation as an archprestal house. Peace and silence dwell among its walls. The space La Casa del Arzipreste II (Casa del Ama), built in 1774, has been rehabilitated with the same materials of yesteryear: stone, wood, mud, Arabic tile... but in addition, all the products that have been used during its restoration (paintings, wood treatments, etc.) have an ecological certificate and are suitable for people with allergies and chemical intolerances. It is therefore a unique accommodation where our guests are not only surrounded by history but also feel safe in a healthy environment free of toxic products. Inside this house dedicated to guest accommodations today nothing has been discarded because any old object, no matter how humble it is, properly restored and located in the right place, comes to new life and brings authenticity to the spaces and experience of living them. Other things to note The house has a kitchen with all the small appliances and kitchenware needed for several days of stay; if you want to prepare your own meals, we recommend the best places in the area to shop, especially local products and suppliers that offer organic crops. On Tuesdays there is a market in the squares of Astorga, and on the first Sunday of each month, we have a flea market in Requejo where you can buy artisan products, typical food, antiques, clothes and all kinds of secondhand items. We have everything you need to stay with children: cribs of various sizes, bathtubs and bathroom seats, playgrounds, baby backpacks, intercoms, etc. We work together to help families traveling with children come with as little luggage as possible. In addition to the accommodation, we offer breakfasts and meals adapted to any diet: vegetarians, vegans, celiacs, macrobiotics, etc. We share and promote the idea of "Slow Food" and all our menus are "km.0", being made with the seasonal products that leave our own organic farm gardens. Breakfasts and meals are served in Arzipreste II, in the large dining room with a fireplace, rehabilitated in what was the haystack of the lounge, and decorated with antique furniture of family heritage. In La Casa del Arzipreste we keep in use the curing kitchen and the adobe oven, where we make from bread and biscuits on commission; all with oak firewood from our encinars that are in front of the house. As an example of the special attention we pay guests with allergy and/or chemical intolerance issues, the products used for cleaning and laundry from La Casa del Arzipreste are eco-certified and do not contain allergens of any kind. Some pets are allowed up to a maximum of two; please let us know before booking.
