The space The wood burner is the focal point of the contemporary, open-plan space which comprises the ground-floor of this handsome property. The bright lounge area has plenty of seating around a TV and DVD, and in summer you can throw open the glazed doors to the garden and enjoy a fresh breeze. At the far end of the room there’s a light-filled dining area and a handsome kitchen, fitted with everything necessary to prepare delicious meals. A utility room offers storage and laundry facilities, and leads to a handy downstairs shower room. All three beautifully designed bedrooms are on the first floor: a double with an en-suite shower room and a balcony, from which there are breathtaking views over the marshes to the River Alde and Orford Castle in the distance. The second double bedroom and the bunk bed room share a bathroom with a bath and separate shower. The outside space is just as impressive: a large decked area on several levels that’s perfect for BBQs, while the lawn has a gate at the end to the public footpath across the marshes. Take time to explore the shops, restaurants and many historic buildings in Aldeburgh, and wander along the shingle beach, where fishermen pull up their colourful boats. If you want outdoor adventures, you can walk the coast path, hire bikes, play golf or canoe up the Alde Estuary, while the family attractions of Easton Farm Park, Southwold Maize Maze and Africa Alive are all within 23 miles.
