The perfect combination of city energy and historical architecture When you stand in front of the apartment, take a moment to absorb the atmosphere of Utrecht. This will be your home base for the next few days. Enter the front door, drop your bags and hang your coats for the time being, and explore the space. The living room features a comfortable couch and a smart TV, perfect for relaxing after a long day of work or sightseeing. The open kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, oven, microwave, induction stove, fridge, and kitchen utensils. Enjoy your home-cooked meals at the large dining table. The bathroom has a large rain shower, double sink, and a separate toilet down the hall. Both bedrooms have two single box spring beds that can be pushed together to create a double bed. One of the benefits of the wharf cellar is the peace and quiet, as well as the consistent temperature (with floor heating to keep you warm). The wharfs are below street level due to flooding risks. With the construction of water locks and windmills, water could be better managed. From the 12th century onwards, merchants first started building tunnels under their houses, and the current extended cellars mostly date from the 17th century. Back in the day, there were no refrigerators like we have today. These cooler, lower spaces, out of the sun and close to the water, were perfect for storing food in the middle of the city. Guest access You will have exclusive access to the entire apartment, including a private bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. Please feel at home and treat our belongings with respect. Other things to note - Always ensure the front door of the apartment is closed and locked when you leave, even if it's just for 5 minutes. - A freshly made bed with linen and towels will be waiting for you upon arrival. We welcome you to a clean and luxurious space! - If you would like weekly cleaning, including fresh linen and towels during your stay, this can be arranged. - Cameras are installed outside the apartment above the entrance, pointing at the front door, to monitor real occupancy and for emergency situations only.
