The house offers a total getaway into the beautifull rolling countryside of the Southern Charente, among sunflower, wheat and corn fields. 2 miles away is Chalais, a busy but small market town w all necessary amenities: a vibrant street market, restaurants, supermarket, bank, a pittoresque outdoor swimming pool w diving boards and baby pool, a large dominant chateau, a train station w direct trains to Bordeaux. The space The one-storey stone house, with tiled roof and wooden shutters is over 300years old and is located in the heart of a quiet hamlet (6 other houses with friendly neighbours) named "Les Foucaudes". It has both a front and back garden. The recently and fully equiped kitchen, with its thick, dark wooden ceiling, has a lot of caracter. It opens up through a large french door to the back garden, where nothern exposure provides good shade for outdoor lunches. A solid outdoor table seating 8.
