Old restored farmhouse, detached, in a peacefull hamlet, surrounded with fields. The house offers a total getaway into the beautifull rolling countryside of the Southern Charente, among sunflower, wheat and corn fields. 2 miles away is Chalais, a busy but small market town w all necessary amenities: a vibrant street market, restaurants, supermarket, bank, a pittoresque outdoor swimming pool w diving boards and baby pool, a large dominant chateau, a train station w direct trains to Bordeaux. The space The one-storey stone house, with tiled roof and wooden shutters is over 300years old and is located in the heart of a quiet hamlet (6 other houses with friendly neighbours) named "Les Foucaudes". It has both a front and back garden. The recently and fully equiped kitchen, with its thick, dark wooden ceiling, has a lot of caracter. It opens up through a large french door to the back garden, where nothern exposure provides good shade for outdoor lunches. A solid outdoor table seating 8. The house stays cool in the summer thanks to its thick stone walls. The 2 spacious bedrooms have wooden floors and exposed beams which create a warm atmosphere. On the same level is the bathroom and a separate toilet. The large living room has a comfortable leather sofa, facing the woodburner and TV, an a large farm table. Other things to note A foldable baby crib, with mattress, is available on request. Bedding for this bed is not provided. A foldable cot, with mattress, is available on request.
