Casita Luna is a remote-yet-near, romantic, rustic, bright and breezy retreat, located in a historic Northern New Mexican village. Surrounded by high forest trails and inspiring mountain views, and complete privacy, solitude, and comfort. Visit with Luna the donkey and Blossom the horse! You may stay a week to a month in this remote location. Unending forest walks are right out the back door, and the casita is equipped with a functional kitchenette. Santa Fe County License #23-854 The space 20-25 minutes from the Santa Fe plaza, Casita Luna, a quaint 160 square foot guest home, sits on 20-acre Rancho Escondido. The casita has a separate entrance, sunny windows, kitchenette, bathroom with shower, wood stove and wood, and a private deck for outdoor relaxing. A wonderful feature is an outdoor fireplace for s'mores and marshmallow roasts under a blanket of stars. There are local hiking trails right from the property, and miles upon miles of national forest trails for biking or hiking just down the road. Nearby are the delicious, bumbling Cafe Fina and Harry's Roadhouse for local dining. Access is via an absolutely gorgeous, picturesque, mountainous road the last three miles or so. The final mile is dirt road with a few very passable ruts and bumps. Residents and guests both access this area daily with both 4WD and 2WD cars. Some guests plan for daylight arrival or allow a few extra minutes for their first navigation. After your first journey into the neighborhood, you'll see that access is very simple. Guest access The kitchenette comes equipped with a four-burner stove, a coffee pot, countertop oven/airfryer, microwave oven, mini-refrigerator, and 1/2 size fridge. Simple kitchen essentials are provided - pots/pans, hot water pot, cutting board, mixing bowl, kitchen towels, utensils, kitchen knife, plates, coffee cups, wine glasses, and drinking glasses. Essentials such as dish soap, sponges, plastic storage containers, trash bags, saran wrap and tinfoil are provided for your use. Paper products, soap, toiletries, trash bags, etc., shall be replenished by guest during your long-term stay. Other things to note Two radiant heaters are the core heating source. One rack of firewood is provided for each reservation for use in the wood stove. There are a few empty drawers and a cabinet for storage. Cell signals are not strong in this remote village - you may link to WiFi, however, for reliable calling. See house manual for important guidance for WiFi calling. Bring your laptop for internet access, as well. This casita is small, however, it has a queen-sized bed as well as two large, comfy chairs.
