Description
People and nature meet on equal footing. The journey toward a slower pace begins as soon as you arrive. The final 200 meters or so from the parking lot to the treehouse are covered on foot and by handcart. There you’ll find a meadow filled with wildflowers and scattered fruit trees, a newly planted forest consisting partly of very small native and exotic trees, a stream with a footbridge, two tree platforms, and—right in the middle—three treehouses on stilts. Across the road lies Lake Haslach (swimming lake) on the Auerberg (1,055 m). The accessible treehouse, built in 2024 using sustainable timber-frame construction, is energy-efficiently insulated and, with its underfloor heating and solar power, habitable year-round. With 30 square meters of space, it has everything you need and answers the question: How much space do you actually need to live? A fully equipped tiny kitchen, 2 bedrooms on 2 floors connected by a step ladder, a large panoramic window, a bathroom with a shower and toilet, a spacious balcony, and much more. A special feature: An Estonian tent sauna is tucked away in the woods right by the stream, complete with a wood-burning stove. Rustic. The stilt construction respects the natural habitat of plants and animals. Much of life takes place outdoors; nature becomes your living space. So don’t be surprised if the little spider “Widerlich” and Karl the beetle stop by from time to time. Guest Access The grounds and the three treehouse cabins on stilts aren’t directly accessible by car, which aligns with the project’s goal of avoiding soil sealing. A parking lot is available about 200 meters away at the Seemühle. Immediately adjacent is a small wooden shed. This shed houses one handcart per treehouse for transporting luggage to the treehouse, as well as the house key fob in a key safe (see directions under “Photos”). The combination lock code will be sent a few days before arrival. Bicycle parking spaces are located directly next to the treehouse. The bins and containers for recycling can be found on the balcony of the first treehouse workshop.
