Japonica Cottage, Herefordshire

Our 3 bedroom cottage on our small holding has comfy beds, lovely new bathrooms and a private enclosed garden, fire-pit & BBQ. We have feather duvets and luxury bedding, luxury toiletries in the bathrooms and throws for the furniture so your dog can join you for cosy time. The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine. There's an outside tap for muddy boots and paws. We're close to the Malvern Hills, lots of countryside and Ledbury town and have some beautiful walks nearby. The space Japonica is a 3 storey cottage, attached to our farmhouse, but has a separate gateway, front door entrance and its own garden. There are steps up to the front door and unfortunately there is no other access so the cottage is unsuitable for wheelchair access. There are also 2 flights of stairs in the cottage. Some of the window sills, including in 2 bedrooms, are very low and could be climbed into by small children or pets. There are window opening restrictors and keys to lock the windows if needed, so they can’t be fiddled with. The ground floor has a living/dining area and a kitchen. We hope we've thought of everything you might need for your stay but would be happy to provide anything that we've forgotten and you may need. Just drop us a message. On the first floor there is a double bedroom and a newly fitted bathroom with shower. On the same floor there is a further bedroom with a daybed for sleeping or just lounging in and overlooking the pond, garden, rear paddocks which may well have our sheep in. The day bed has a second single bed under, which makes the room up to a double if required. The top second floor has a second double bedroom and a 2nd bathroom with shower. There is also a small TV room on this floor with an armchair and beanbags. We have oil fired central heating and hot water. There are plenty of books & games available for rainy days. We have chickens and sheep on site so if you're bringing a dog, please keep them under control around the animals if they're likely to chase or chew! Please don't open gates or climb fences and please be aware that there is barbed wire around some of the stock. Guest access On arrival the house will be unlocked and the key will be on the inside of the door. You'll park just outside the garden gate, right next to the cottage. Other things to note We are just a 20 minute drive from Three Counties Showground. Plenty of great places to eat in Ledbury town, The Olive Tree is a lovely Italian restaurant, The Seven Stars is a regular place that we would eat with a great menu. The Oak (great country pub with lovely food) at Staplow and The Moody Cow (pretty special) at Upton Bishop are a little further out but well worth the drive. We're just a few miles from Westons Cider Mill and Three Choirs Vineyard. There are infinite walks just a short drive away, the Malvern Hills, or the Forest of Dean. We're only about 10 minutes from Eastnor Castle, a fab visitor attraction with beautiful countryside grounds. Eastnor is also the setting for the Land Rover Experience. We're happy to accept a supermarket delivery for you on the day of arrival and make sure the chilled goods get straight in the fridge. Just let me know beforehand. There'll always be a pint of milk, tea, coffee & sugar available on arrival. With a bit of notice we can provide some catering, a shepherds pie ready to pop in the oven after a long walk, again, just let us know what your requirements are and we'll do our best.
